IROG'S PROFILE

Hi all !

I like 16-bits RPGs (especially action RPGs) where you feel the quest behind the lines of code. I also like strategy, puzzle solving, immersive stories, tabletop RPG and LARP.

I'm a hobbyist C programmer who likes to work on custom game mechanics. My very first project was a very basic map generator for Genesia, aka Ultimate Domain https://rpgmaker.net/users/Irog/locker/UltimateDomainWorld.zip

I also want to help developers polishing their projects with my player feedback. So I'll be happy to test your game !

See you around,
Irog

Irog, your game is very cool :^D!

Thanks! Feel free to comment the game. I'm always looking for feedback.

Best of all, it's less than 1Mb.

You're the first person to comment on file size. I also like small size games that are fully functional. And it's very convenient for uploading.

I hope your CSS includes some hexagon-goodies somewhere.

I'll do my best!

Game Page Workshop

I've updated all the old screenshots of my gamepage. I'm now ready to tackle this CCS thing.

The latest screenshot update now shows the extended range of the archer: 2-4

Game Page Workshop

Do we need to save the current gamepage to show what it was in comparison to the improved gamepage we make for this event?

map16.png

The crossbowmen shoot deadly quarrels that inflict 3 damages at range 3 and 4 damages at range 2. Compared to the 1 damage per attack or 2 damages per charge attack of other units, the crossbow is very powerful but it requires a long time to load. You'll need good some strategy to take full advantage of the crossbowmen in your ranks!

MinST gamepage definitely needs some improvements. I'll probably not reach the level of talented artists but it's worth trying; right?

The Legend of Zelda (Solarus Edition)

author=kory_toombs
I wasn't aware of its history in RPG Maker, but I found the official history:

The Legend of Zelda: Mystery of Solarus DX is set to be a direct sequel to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past on the SNES, using the same graphics and game mechanisms. Zelda Mystery of Solarus DX is the first game made with the Solarus engine and in fact, Solarus was primarily designed for this game.

Zelda: Mystery of Solarus DX is actually an enhanced remake of a first creation, Zelda: Mystery of Solarus. This first creation, developed with RPG Maker 2000, was released in 2002 and was only available in French. The DX project was unveiled on April 1st, 2008. Its objectives are to correct the many flaws of its predecessor: the battle system, the bosses, the use of items, etc.

However, that is hardly all of it as new graphical elements and musics will accompany you throughout the game. This Deluxe version will be the opportunity for players to relive the adventure in a brand new way, or to discover it for the first time if you’ve never played it before!

It appears that the team wasn't satisfied with what RPG Maker could do and made their own engine. And the engine is free, and the terms of use even allow you to make commercial games with it.

It's good to see that my comment raised your curiosity: we both learned more of the history of the Solarus engine.

The Legend of Zelda (Solarus Edition)

The game I was referring to was made in RPG Maker 2000 by Christopho and Netgamer. It has the following title screen.

And yes, it dates!

The Solarus engine looks really cool. I'll try this new game!

The Legend of Zelda (Solarus Edition)

How does this game relate to the game "The Legend of Zelda : Mystery of Solarus"? Is it a remake with a newer engine?
