LIBERTY'S PROFILE

I enjoy playing and creating games (mostly RPGs) and have a love of story and characterisation above graphics. I've been into RM* since '96 and have used all makers - started on the PSX makers, found and used a patched version of the SNES RM, then moved to RM95. When I found RM2K I finally decided to join some forums and I've been a part of the community ever since.

Tales of Yuria: The Dragon God

It certainly sounds like it might be the RAM issue. MV tends to run a lot of RAM in and of itself, but if you don't have a fair amount of RAM and you've got other stuff open it can just slam itself down like that. It's what happened to me that time after the Baron/Lord/Family boss. I would recommend following the red text that AeroFunk mentioned a few posts ago and also save often, close down the game after a certain amount of time and reopening. It's a hassle but the longer you play, the more RAM gets built up and the worse it'll get, especially in a long game like this where you'll play for hours.

From the sounds of it you don't have the RTP installed. You need the VX Ace files here, and then follow the installation instructions.

@AeroFunk: I meant to mention that it would be nice to have some way to heal aside from items before you unlock the inn. Maybe they could camp outside at that campfire? Start the game with some Salmon or something so you can heal there? At that point I had maybe two healing items left and was sweating about how I'd be able to heal after I used those. Even if items respawn, if they don't do it until after the dungeon then if you're having trouble getting through it you'll easily run out of heals.

Well I played a fair bit more and have some more feedback.
- The healing upgrade is a bit lacklustre, seeing as it fluctuates between +20 to +120-ish. It'd be nice if it were a bit more stable and towards the higher end of that since it your HP at that point is well over double the amount you get and healing items aren't really a good upgrade (more like, Potions are okay but only okay, and they're also very rare on the ground and harder to get the ingredients for).
- I appreciate that Tia gets double attacks sometimes. It's helpful.
- Some way beyond mushrooms and wasting a turn to get more TP would be nice, especially since the mages have to wait forever. I'd rec something that gives maybe 40-50.
- The game crashed on me due to the memory leak issue after the fight with the Baron dude and his family.
- I notice digging spots just dried up.
- There's a bug in the fort where the guy who gives you a gold key for turning in the couple who did the murder keeps giving you gold keys if you talk to him again.
- There's a few mapping mistakes in the forest. Trees that are cut in half.
- The end part has become a bit battle fluff. It feels a bit too much to not only go through the town and kill every enemy twice, but then have slimes and wolves AND guards to kill on top of that. It's a bit too much.
- I meant to mention that I tried to get the white wolf thing near the start but I couldn't trigger him to appear and there were only a few wolves to fight so I never got to finish that quest which was annoying.
- I'm really not a big fan of sidequests that close off for no real good reason. I can understand the one in the fort since you can miss the room with the bodies and/or that guy dies in the attack, (though having the option of seeing someone else about getting a reward from that would be nice) but 'people leave' isn't a great explanation since they were hanging around to check stuff like the druids and such. It was a bit annoying to get the items and not be able to hand them in.
- I don't what what items I should keep and what ones I should sell. Some of them say "someone might buy this for more" and others say about getting a fair price and it's like "who do I sell this shit to to get the best cost?" or even "do I need to keep this for some reason?" since some items are needed for quests. Clearer marking would be nice.

I'll probably go back to the game again after I take a break. That crash really downed me out because I was finally finished with that section and hadn't been able to save for a while.

Oh, another thing I noticed was a lack of quests when going in to the west forest, which is kinda boo. It feels a bit lopsided - more fighting, less questing towards the end.

Still, game is fun. I'm looking forward to your next foray!

Tales of Yuria: The Dragon God

Kind of shocked this hasn't gotten more love. Yes, it has a slow start, and yes there's some annoying aspects (I could do without the whole storyteller interludes and the slow-ass walk speed), but the rest of the game is pretty great and I've enjoyed the 10+ hours I've played of it so far (I'm at the dark forest).

That said, there is an issue with it having a memory leak - or having a huge memory use. I mean, my computer's not beefcake but it can run Witcher 3 and firefox at the same time without any problems, and yet this MV game keeps freezing my computer up around 2-3 hours in, so I have to reset the damn thing so it chills the fuck out on my poor 8GB RAM. You might want to look into that and see if there's anything that could be done.

But yeah, so far so good.

To upload to RMN: go to the Downloads page on your game profile (you can get there via hovering over your name in the black bar at the top, clicking on Manage Games and then clicking on your game). Then choose the zipped/compressed file, fill in the details for the page and then click submit. Leave the page until it redirects - it can take a while depending on your internet speed and the site, so just let it be while you do something else. You'll know it uploaded when it changes to another page.

HOWEVER: we have a limit on how big a game size can be uploaded. 450MB is as high a game size as we can go (I would recommend a non-RTP version if you want to cut down sizes). You can also hover over your name, click on Locker and then upload there (check how much space you have there). The more Makerscore you have the bigger your lockerspace. You can get Makerscore by making a gamepage, adding reviews and other stuff to the site, taking part in events and the like. Donating to the site will give you 1000 MS straight away, too, so people tend to throw $10 or so at the site to get the requisite badge (it also gets rid of any ads on the site, so you don't have to worry about adblocker).

Lakria Legends

Use Insert or Home. It should fix some shift issues.

No downloads? No love for this cool gem?

BoxxyQuest: The Gathering Storm

Please ignore that idiot. He's a dupe account of someone who got banned and wants to kick up trouble.

Lunar: The last hope

Please do not insult someone just because they changed their game to haitus and won't talk to you. It's not necessary. Sometimes games just go through cancellations and such. Getting mad about it doesn't help.
