2023 Misao nomination monthly data
June numbers are up! The total nomination count rises to 32 this month, a gain of 10 over last month. Comparing to 2022, it beats the over all number, but the number of nominations for the month is the same. Comparing to 2021, the overall value is way less, but, the number of nominations for the month is greater.
July looks like it could be another slow month, looking at the numbers. The number of nominations in the month was only one in 2022, and 10 in 2021. We'll see if that trend holds true this year as well!

Final Fantasy - As Fate May Have It - Cancelled!
I was hit with a black screen bug during my test play ;_;
Still, I was able to play about 12 and a half hours into the game. I sent a PM to Jparker1984 concerning this, plus a bunch of other things I saw, among other commentary.

Of the games made during Sweet Sixteen that have gamepages, I would suggest Lily's Sugar Rush. My favorite among that batch may have been pianotm's Confectioner's Fantasy, but, it doesn't have a gamepage (yet?) Soulrains's game was a pretty solid game.
[RMMV] Should I Make My Game Commertial?
I'd also tend toward no, but, my reasoning concerns your wiliness to perform your own debugging and quality control. Sure, you may be able to outsource it to some degree, and perhaps your outlook on this matter has changed. Still, I remember playing Meteo Chronicles. Whatever version I played initially had a fairly easily exploitable sequence break in the early game. Even if one ignores that, I also remember there being an incredible number of updates that happened in quick succession.
I honestly think you couldn't keep up with them, only fixed what was reported, not able to spare the time to see if there were other bugs to squash. But, consumers won't see that if that kind of behavior is done to a commercial game. At best, they will see a lazy dev, shrug their shoulders at the loss of "only $5", or whatever. At worst... maybe think it's a scam?

What are you thinking about? (game development edition)
I had a light bludgeoning of inspiration, in the direction of a possible Myriad Cypher 2. Well, that's the project's name at the moment. I doubt it will be connected to Myraid Cypher at all, with the possible exception of including Lintis Kalt as the protagonist again and because I enjoy making cameos from my own projects.

Are there any LBGTQIA+ games in the games list? If so, I would love to try them out!
Would be neat to add and LGBTQIA+ tag in the search engine!
I highly recommend Luxaren Allure, if you have not already played it. It was a featured game, won a few Misao awards (including Game of the Year in 2015) and recently had a release on the Steam platform. You may also be interested in the follow-up game, Izrand Allure.
[RMMZ] Plugin to call Common Event on skill use (Combat)
I'm not sure how much this helps, but, there's a few functions in Game_Interpreter listed under "Common Event" in rmmz_objects.js
Saying that, there should be an option, possibly under "Other", to call a Common Event in the Skills tab. I dunno if each skill has it's own Common Event in your game, but, that might cut down on the need to keep track of Skill ID through $gameVariables. As for keeping track of target ID, and using a dice-system... I feel that doesn't need a Common Event at all, and could be done with a simpler script?
*Edit: I might know how to make an optional parameter in Ace, but, I've yet to learn how to make an optional parameter in MZ.
// Common Event Game_Interpreter.prototype.command117 = function(params) { const commonEvent = $dataCommonEvents[params[0]]; if (commonEvent) { const eventId = this.isOnCurrentMap() ? this._eventId : 0; this.setupChild(commonEvent.list, eventId); } return true; }; Game_Interpreter.prototype.setupChild = function(list, eventId) { this._childInterpreter = new Game_Interpreter(this._depth + 1); this._childInterpreter.setup(list, eventId); };

// Rolls "n" number of "d"-sided dice, then adds "b". function roll(n, d, b) = { if (b === undefined) { b = 0 }; total = 0; for (let i=0; i<n; i++) { total += Math.randomInt(d); } total += b; return total; };

Sorry that you had trouble with the hook. I probably should've made it a little faster, to be honest. Also, Candy Gardens Act 2 has a glitch where I used the wrong object in place of a checkpoint.
We talked a bit on Discord, but, I'll say here that I really liked this game's sense of speed, and how you can go through enemies by without being stopped/pushed back, and only loosing some of your candy.
pianotm
Also, it's the default speed. What did you want me to do?
For the most part, it's fine. However, there was one area, I think it was the farm? There was a set of butterscotch tucked between rows of raised soil, and they registered as a barrier. Getting them all had me move pretty far down each of the lanes, so, it was a bit eye-rolling to get them. Still, this was the game I enjoyed the most from this event!
OldPat
You're taking this way too seriously, man.
It's a joke game made for a five minutes laugh with friends of the community, you don't need to be a "veritable nobody", because we and the others all knew what kinda game it was.
After playing it, sure, I'm very much aware it's an in-joke-game. Though, yeah, maybe I took your responses to my feedback a little too seriously! He he he
CrazyBabi
The aesthetics point is quite awkward to balance since it is the additional outside of the main attributes. I guess I should have either increase the ingredients' aesthetics point or lower the aesthetics requirement. But I'm afraid the game will become too easy.
It's something of a balancing act, but, if you want to refine the formula beyond this event into a gamepage, maybe try it with lowered requirements first. Like, reduce it by 10, see how it feels, then tweak up/down as necessary. Though, I think having the requirement being a multiple of 5 (if not 10) might be where this game wants to be?
SWEET SIXTEEN
It's exactly games like Acceptance 2ugar Diet where I'm glad I'm a veritable nobody on this site. Anyways, feedback part 2 Electric Boogaloo.
Sugar Rush by Soulrain
This is a funky little platformer, but, I kinda wish the checkpoints and respawn mechanics worked differently. Though, I think the game is largely geared to being family-friendly, and that having Lily pulled up by a hook, and being sent back to the last known checkpoint is likely part of that. Still, it's a little aggravating to have to sit and watch the process. Though, perhaps one can also look at this mechanic as the game's way of saying, "here's this part of the course again, now do it again, only do it right/better."
Effervescent Fantasy 1 Cross by Lascivaware
I'm not sure about half of what the characters are saying. A number of terms that are thrown around are entirely foreign to me, and over my head. I'm also at a loss of what to do. There's a boulder I can push, and a statute, but, I can't say for sure if the writing on the statue's plaque has anything to do with the boulder, or if moving the boulder to the "correct" position will do anything. Or, if that is even a puzzle that the game expects me to solve.
I can't say for sure if I'm a fan of the combat, where there's abilities that miss without fail, but then a follow-up ability is used that is the actual, desired effect. I can't say for certain if there is a better workaround for the intended system, or if I can properly identify what the intended system is. I will say some of the cut-scenes in combat that trigger off of the "Enchant" ability toes the line for acceptable content for my personal tastes. Though, I might be a bit prudish on this point.

Walking can definitely be faster.
As soon as I went from a long hall of bathroom stalls into to walking among a field of clouds, I lost all sense of direction. Maybe before that. It was certainly the moment that defined my loss of interest to continue playing. I suppose part of the challenge is to make sense of the teleport maze, and I have to give a few props to theGun of Blasting gun mechanic. Still, I don't think this game is for me. I don't doubt there are fans of this kind of game, though.
Emily's Sweets Event by Vaccaria, OzzyTheOne, and Delsin7
Text cut-off right in the intro. I didn't detect one anywhere else in my play, but, it's a minor issue, at best.
It took a number of retries, confusion, and attempts, with some icons I couldn't quite identify until later (the pizzelle?) but, I did, eventually, get the hang of the process. I can only personally deal with one order at a time, though, on a lark, I spawned, like, five customers in quick succession. Certainly an information overload for my poor brain.
Though, if there is one other thing I want to note, it's that the icon for the cupcake with a cherry on top and the cupcake with chocolate on top look exceptionally similar to me. I swear, I made a chocolate-topped cupcake three times to serve to a customer, and had to face-palm each time it was denied, and I realized I made the wrong thing. I get that the icons have to be a certain size to fit inside the thought-bubbles, but, I thought I should mention it regardless.
