Yes it is quite similar if you put it like that but not exactly. If I remember correctly the subforum that had all the games in it also had discussions.
Before you go continuing on, you might want to check http://rpgmaker.net/ and click on a game.
That is where you discuss the game...please browse RMN3 more.
edit: or do you mean discussions not related to the game?

arcan, it's the same principle dude.
On forums like GW or whatever, you browsed a forum and clicked a topic to check out what that game was about. All you have to do here is go to http://rpgmaker.net/ and click on the game, which is essentially the topic.
Also on the forums you never "found" what you were looking for through advertisement. You stumbled upon the game by clicking every new topic. You can do that here too, you know. Except you might see a pretty preview picture before you click on it.

How to Succeed
If you think he is bad, I have a challenge for you.
-Go through one of his games and try to count the rooms that don't have a treasure or is not important to the progression of the game.
-Now go through your own game and do the same. Compare the results. You may be surprised...
Kaempfer buddy, I agree with you, but I think you are getting ahead of yourself... :)

Nightblade, use the third one. Games (especially rm2k3 ones) that use the other two always tend to have an issue with jagged edges with the portraits since there is no background color to compliment them. Photoshop does a good job of blending the background color with the actual portrait. I'm not too sure how big your portraits are going to be when they're done, but you have about 65-70 pixels of space until the message box alignment becomes a problem.
Oversexualization of Females in Games
It isn't an issue with just females really, it's about being honest with your characters and not making up bullshit to make you care for them.
Most games do this, which sucks. They'll create a character who is downright evil, kills everything in sight, has huge muscular arms, but will try to make you care for them by creating a story about how his wife was murdered and he is seeking revenge. The same thing applies with females. You don't create a character who acts or looks seductive and try to cover it up with some serious cutscene that attempts to add depth to them.

Well, I tackled this issue in a cutscene in my game. The hero communicates with a female through a device, like Metal Gear Solid. As opposed to seeing her face when you talk to her through the device, you simply see a pair of breasts. I do believe this is because male tend to develop the games. Males, especially male nerds, tend to be sexual in many ways.See, at least this is honest, and you're not making stuff up to make her seem more than what she really is. I salute you...
Release Something! Day VIII: Journey of the Cursed King [Discussion]
Hey I don't know what to play (excluding V&V and DOAD since I have played them before) but I plucked two games out of here and these are my thoughts.
Neo Lescia
This game must have no sound effects. It feels very empty without them. The intro was weird and then I entered the factory and realized this game had no battles. I mean, I don't know why you would introduce puzzles before introducing the actual game mechanics unless this was a puzzle game, it feels very weird. So yeah, after I passed the first puzzle I closed this. The puzzles were boring too (ugh conveyor belts). This was like the equivalent of stripping exploration and battles in a traditional RPG dungeon and just leaving the puzzles. What you get is something that is not very fun. It's a pretty looking game, though.
Blink
There is some really slow intro text. The word tomorrow was spelled wrong. Um, that's all there was to the game. There were some maps and some more text in picture form. You should really make it so you can speed up the process of examining things. I was in the bedroom when I finally gained control of my character and examining things took forever (slow picture speed, no option of pressing enter to speed it up). I don't know what happens after this because I accidentally climbed back into the bed and the game was over. Never tried again.
I guess I'll try some games that have battles now.

PSP - Why didn't I buy this earlier?
Jeanne d'Arc.
It's so much better than that terrible version of FFT. That thing is so bad, even with the remade dialogue and cutscenes. Jeanne d'Arc is the best RPG on the PSP. Brave Story and Crisis Core are also good.

Final Fantasy VI - Do you save Cid, or let him die?
I request that we compile all FF topics in to one master topic. The first page has like 7 FF topics. =|
I never saved Cid. Him dying was sad, but then the incredible overworld music would play and the feeling of "MUST KILL KEFKA" would enter my head afterwards.
