[Rm2k3] Best way to make a variable-comparing calculation?

Well, it depends on how much time and work you are willing to put into it. With a maximum number of 10 partcipants in battle, you will have to set up at least 200 Conditional Branches - although you can just copy/paste and then slightly modificate most of them.
It would still work, but if it sounds like too much for you, that's understandable.

Just for clarification: This is intended to be used in a custom battle system, right? Because using it in the regular battle engine probably wouldn't work well.

The Highlander's Tomb (Team Forum RPG)

Upon hearing the fisherman and the guards talk, I get an idea. I say to Bazyli: "Wait a second. I'll go talk to them."
I address the guards: "Excuse me, are you by chance talking about a blue-haired Half-Elf who looks a bit like a woman? Yes, he is my stepbrother and I have to take care of him. You know, he's a bit..." I roll my eyes a few times. "Well, he sometimes has these panic attacks where he forgets what he's doing and then tries to flee from everything. You don't have to worry, he's not dangerous or mean-spirited at all, just scared. I was just looking to find him and take him back home. You don't have to concern yourself with him, noble guards.
Of course," I say as I turn towards the fisherman, "I will bring you your boat back immediately, too. Can you help us cross the river?"

[Rm2k3] Best way to make a variable-comparing calculation?

Although I never directly used it myself, I know a mathematical way to do this with variables: It will result in a "priority" system. However, it will become much more complicated if the number of characters in battle is higher, as a large number of characters and enemies will result in a lot of calculations that need to be done. It is also not extremely simple, but I'd try to decribe it as precisely as possible.

So, how many participants can be in a battle at maximum?

Fundamental RPGology

I hear ya, karins_soulkeeper. Thanks for the advice, I'll be sure to follow it.
I'm already excited to see who is going to win the contest. Good luck to everyone who participated.

Wyrm Warriors

You can find it here. It is on a special page called "Make a Map", which you can access from the top of the gamepage.

Edit: How could I ever think I'd be faster than Marrend... ^_^

The Imperfect "Contest Version"

The download is up. I marked this game as "Completed" for now, since I probably won't be able to work much on it for a few weeks. Whenever I start creating the full version, I will move it back to "Production".

Feedback and criticism is always appreciated. Please let me know what you think - even if it's just an "Imperfect Version".

Fundamental RPGology

I just uploaded the contest version of my entry, which is unfortunately much less complete and polished than I had hoped. I will keep hoping, though.

One last question: Since I posted a link to my submission here, do I still have to upload it into the contest locker to qualify? (I doubt I have enough free space in my locker as it is...)

Thanks again to those who made this contest possible. It has taught me more than you would believe.

Juggling multiple projects at once is difficult.

That should be the title for your next game: Master of the Obvious.
It would be great - though utterly predictable. ^_^

The Highlander's Tomb (Team Forum RPG)

Welcome back, seiromem. I hope you had a nice trip. Rest well.
And then update the game, please. We're sitting on the edges of our seats here.

My gamepage is up! Find it here.

I still have to finish some enemies' AI. And since I probably won't have the time to program a tutorial, I'll have to include a text file explaining the battle system and characters' mechanics instead.
I'm really excited nonetheless.
