I think a mixture of hand-drawn pencil-coloured pieces and your block-colour style would make for a really, really interesting looking game. Would be awesome if you could get a few more done.

Nowadays it's more Buzz Lightyear than barbies. He was out to get me one of the times I was at my Mum's. Randomly appeared in my room, and he was in the lounge, place he was making his voicebox sounds with no batteries.

I quite like it in a "THIS IS A SUBTLE METAPHOR!!!!!" way.

Edit: Besides, the anime probably worked that way and YDS is just being loyal to the source/inspiration material.
