The strongest weapon in the game. Should it be mandatory or optional? If optional what requirements must the player meet to unlock it?
Well there are strong weapons in the game. One for each weapon class. But there are also a lot of hidden weapons as well.

Optional it is. I wasn't going to make it a drop from a super boss for the very reason SgtMettool stated. I might make it the reward for completing a side quest.
Steel Spirit SaGa
Yes. The update should be out by friday. There are a few changes to game play and the game breaking bugs will be fixed. I'll give a full list once I upload the update.
Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!
I've recently finished a good ending point for the next demo release of Steel Spirit SaGa and am now thoroughly play testing it to iron out and bugs and glitches I might have missed. So far some of the ones that are listed in the comments have been taken care of. But one can never be too careful. Just because I'm making a crappy RM2K3 fan sequel to an old PS1 game doesn't mean I can't put a bit of effort into it.
Steel Spirit SaGa
Sorry for not getting back to you right away. I've been busy with other things. There is an update that should be coming soon as soon as I can motivate myself to wrap things up ready for the next demo release. I'll look into the problem you've come across.
Steel Spirit SaGa
That's probably due to a bug on my part. I'll have a look myself to see what I've missed. There is an update coming soon, so it should be sorted by then.
How do you differentiate your characters?
No, you can choose what spells they learn as they gain levels in each of the 6 elements in the game, and each character is proficient in two or more elements, meaning they level up faster if equipped with a weapon of the corresponding element. It was just my way of differentiating characters in battle. Plus I'm really bad at explaining things.
How do you differentiate your characters?
For my game Steel Spirit SaGa, each character can level up elements to gain new spells, which is done by equipping a weapon of the corresponding element (except for one of the main characters who can't use magic), and each character is proficient in two or more elements, the combinations are endless.
