[Poll] Why aren't you making a puzzle for BQ: TNG?

Where's the "I never fly solo" option? XD
In all seriousness, I have zero creativity when it comes to puzzles, and while I don't see anything specifically that says "no scripts," it kind of fits in with no database.
Maybe I'll see if any ideas hit me in the next couple days though.

RMN v4.3 Bugs

I only noticed because I have a game where the resolution is taller than it is wide, so it was obvious.

RMN v4.3 Bugs

Minor thing with the Showcase games on profile. It's squishing odd resolution images instead of cropping them like it does elsewhere on the site.

Dragonfly Summer Olympics

@Galv: Thanks : ) I'm really lucky to have Maki to work with, and I really enjoyed scripting for this. These small projects really are the best way to push your boundaries.

@DarkGamer: Thanks, and I'm glad you had fun.

@spirit_young: Wow! That's got to be the fastest review I've ever received XD I appreciate it, and I look forward to reading it once it has been accepted.

What are you thinking about? (game development edition)

Well, yesterday my mind was filled with trigonometry. It's amazing how quickly you forget things you don't use. But who knew high school math would actually be useful.

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

Had a lengthy discussion today with Makio about trimming all the excess with Ethereal Dreams and leaving something manageable to finish. Still not going to go back to working on it until a) school is done, b) cc2 is done, and c) another yet unnamed small project is done, but it was fun to discuss and try to set a reasonable scope. Keep what we were fond of, trash anything we weren't or just was too much work for what it offered.

Castle Chase 2

I am completely focused on school at the moment, but once I'm hopefully finished in May, I should have more time to work on this.

RPG Maker Lingo

Two small things:

1)
Although VX lacks many features, it still contains scripting ability with a new scripting language: RGSS2. This language slightly differs from the original ruby language, so don't get the two confused.
Quite minor, but RGSS2 is just a new set of default scripts, both hidden and accessible. The language is still Ruby. That said, most scripts would need tweaking to be compatible between the two due to the fact the bases are different, as you were pointing out.

2)
Any game made with an RPG maker engine cannot be played without the RTP. Also, you must download an RPG maker engine's RTP to use the engine.
I can't speak for 2k/3, but at least in XPVX you can make a game standalone and not require the rtp. Most developers will note this if they have done so though.

Overall, this seems like a helpful article for those new to the scene.

Review scoring: standardization, professionalism, etc.

Perhaps instead of a numerical scoring system, or as well as, there could be a word system. One person might view 2.5/5 as "average" whereas another might view it as "just barely playable," but if you label it as average, then everyone would view that rating similarly. It wouldn't functionally be that different, but it might make a rating more universal from one person to another.

Level Feedback O-Z

Finally got around to finishing the update to Ghost Circle:
