VX - Script Problem...
Also you'd want to .to_i or round the final variable, so you don't end up doing 20.563467623 damage or something like that.
Edit: Disregard this, I should try reading the script in the first post and not just respond based on comments.

You of course realize you have to do this now.
Once we finish up the deluxe version, that is now our next course of action. Though I wouldn't be surprised if we spent the weekend discussing ideas.

Castle Chase Review
First off, thanks so much for the review. I agree with pretty much everything you've said, and I'm not surprised that many of the things that we were forced to leave out due to time constraints lead to frustration. Pretty much anything that was not absolutely required to get an ending was left out -- with the exception of the hint babes, who I felt if they were left out, would lead to more frustration. For example, Caden would have commented that "That was not the toy he had lost" if presented with the wrong one. It was, after all, found in his room and not lost at all. There was also talk late into development of making certain items - such as the golden tea saucer - obtainable multiple ways; either through the regular event or finding them before hand. Sadly nothing was done with this idea as of yet.
I defiantly agree about the hallways being too long, but I'm not sure if there's anyway to fix that since they connect and go around every room. I had wondered if items stood out enough, but ultimately never did anything with them. This will be fixed in the future; I'm thinking some sort of indicator such as sparkles or a glow around the object, or perhaps something else I have not yet thought of.
As is apparent by this rambly reply, I am clearly not the writer. So I'd like to give props to Makio, who is also the artist. Without her creative skills, I would not have even dared to try to enter this contest. And as a last note, I'm not sure if you were aware, but you can cycle through the items the other direction with the 'D' key, and you can also open a menu with the 'X' key and assign an item that way instead of cycling. The menu also provides descriptions for the items. Ultimately minor, but I thought I'd mention it.
P.S.

God help any villain who gets it in his head to kidnap her.got us chatting about the possibilities of a sequel XD

*adds that to the pile of things to fix/clear up* You actually need to show the keys to Hyde to proceed. I'll probably add a "I should go get Hyde first" when you try to examine the chair before hand.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Maks and I enjoy a lighthearted game over most, so it's no surprise that's echoed in our own games.

Yes Deacon, the large majority of the game is running around, finding items, talking to people and showing them the items you have found, with the occasional item that can be used on the map. Max pegged it about right when he called it a cross between an adventure game and a (reverse) dating sim.

I can see the comparison to Shrek now, though I don't think it crossed my mind when making the scenario.
And the King is in the game :3 Actually in one of the endings. (A bad ending, but an ending non the less)
Unless of course you're talking about the King of Pecok. He does not exist beyond name.
And thanks for taking the time to play so much and provide all this feedback. It's really appreciated.

It is indeed the only the item in the game that has two uses, unless you count a certain item that can be given to two different people :)

Yup, there is indeed a way to stop Erol. The very thing he is afraid of, assuming you picked it back up.

It is one part of game I want to rework a little bit in the deluxe version because it is a little arbitrary and not as clear as it should be.

If you just want a hint:
You are correct. You need to use the cat where he cannot see you, as he has too much pride to chase after a cat if he knows someone is around.
If you want an answer:
Use the cat on the corner tile directly down from his room. You need to be standing to the left of it. Also, don't get seen :) Hopefully you know where I mean otherwise I'll take a screenshot when I get home from work.
