I need a title screen remake for my RPG Maker VX Ace conversion.

No, I meant if you are using some script to change VX's "weird" resolution (530xSomething, I think) into something normal (640x480). But anyway, go with anything @alterego is doing - I couldn't do anything better so I'm withdrawing my offer.

Why aren't most of the RPGs I've downloaded not working?

Then maybe author of game that doesn't work used some faulty patch? Without example of game that doesn't work we really can't do more than to speculate.

RPG maker 2003 RTP

But from what I read, sharing RTP is legal, only sharing maker itself is not. Just like you can share Ace's or XP's RTP legally.

Character generator for VX Ace that does kids?

Yeah, I thought about using XP's/2k3 form factor, but now I would need to replace like 50 characters. Not good. Will use XP-like characters for my next game though,

And I already said that amount of child sprites in Ace's RTP is not enough for me. Anyway, thanks for trying. I appreciate that. Really.

Hm... If you have some child template for VX that could work good as well. I suck at animation, but having template would help me.

//edit: You know, I want to have normal RPG, not "attack of the clones", where every few maps there is same charset used. It is very frowned upon in RM communities in which I'm participating. Even repeated tile is treated that way.

[DynRPG Plugin] DynModeSeven

Well, if "map graphics" wouldn't be rotated in direction of camera (billboarding) and instead would be rendered on double-sided planes that are rotated along with map, it would be flat, but it wouldn't look disjointed.

How about it?

[DynRPG Plugin] DynModeSeven

Is it possible to make certain tiles/autotiles stand up? So e.g., fences or mountains (one tile one) won't be flattened on map. In any case, I probably won't be returning to 2k3 for now, but I want to know in case I'll want to do that.

Rave, your ideas are not feasible, but feel free to rewrite the site in your spare time, for free, in a timely manner.

I know the site is slow. I'm looking into what I can do to optimize it better.

I would, but I can't without access to current sources if you want site to behave like current one.

//edit: @ankylo: And Wikipedia and Facebook runs on PHP. Your point?

@slashphoenix: It just load so fast that you don't even notice it ;).

//edit #2: Also I'd gladly appreciate you to stop putting things I said in my "user title", dear admins. Please also clear current one. Thanks.

Edit request: Map display.

Well, good look with that. You can't eat a cake and still have cake. "Editing the colors" isn't enough to "have some sort of light, flashy effects, and make the colors more suitable with VX Ace graphics".

RMN loading times

Site's written in Python. Python's not designed to make websites unless some very specific framework (read bloat) is applied, like django used here.

It would be better off using PHP, ASP or some language designed specifically to make dynamic websites, even java server pages would be ok. It would take time to rewrite whole thing, but performance would only get better because of it.

//edit: Two minutes. It was sending simple TEXT (MIME: text/plain) message for two minutes. On 20 mbit ADSL connection.

By the way, changing language or even switching to off-the-shelf solution like vBulletin would lower hosting costs as PHP/ASP hosting is dirty cheap.

//edit #2: At least add some sort of spinner and big "Loading" text when user click on the link, so he/she/it will know that SOMETHING is going on. Even newspapers have those nowadays.

[VX Ace] Programming language for Scripts?

If you are familiar with programming in general, particularily Pascal language, you'll see Ruby as very easy language. It takes many clues from Pascal, like begin..end blocks, easy function definition, etc.

It's quite different from Pascal, yes, but for anyone with Pascal experience differences should be easy to pick up and in most cases they actually make sense such as ability to declare variables and constants mid-program (one of the only things about Pascal I don't like are var and const blocks - rest of syntax is actually good).

Anyway, VX Ace's help file provides reference of RGSS (which is very easy to understand and apply, contrary to many "documentation" of "libraries" I had "pleasure" to work with - such good documentation is a rare case in programming world, unfortunately).
