author=Link_2112Just messing around with an idea. Thoughts? How about the shadows? I want to do something simple so it has some depth, but doesn't take long to fiddle with details.
I think that the outlines just need to be darker. It all looks to samey right now and sort of blurs together.

Hopelessly trying to get things done before I leave for my first work shift this week. I'm very, very pleased with the way this tileset came out, but I might change the cliff colour later. Not so sure about it.
The face graphic isn't finished, obviously. Still needs minor cleanup and shading.
EDIT: Wow, sorry about the pagesnipe.
Super Columbine Massacre RPG!
Just more of the concept really, I like it when the message is directly explored through characters and story rather than arting at the player. Like, I'd watch a documentary over a played up movie or something, I don't know. I just don't like art games.
Knytt Underground is a good example of how to explore realistic themes such as friendship and the meaning behind life/religion, as opposed to games like Limbo/The Path where things are so vague that it's hard to say if there was even a message at all.

That one thing....
Basically my "do this to die happy" list is just all of the game projects that me and my partner have planned to work on. Designing games is just the kind of shit that makes me happy, you know? I guess, obviously, finishing Neo Lescia is the foremost thing in my mind on that list, since I've several times touted to myself and to my partner that it's the whole reason I even get up in the morning, you know, saying shit like "it's the reason I was born" and crap like that.
It's hard for me to think of something that I'd have to buy on that list. Most of it is just stuff that I want to do at one point or another in my life. I want to climb the highest point in each province, and on a more grand scale the highest on each continent. If we're really getting crazy I'd like to go to space, as I'm sure anybody would.
Having a dream house is another thing that I'm sure everybody wants, you know, with some cool old cars and lots of unnecessary crap in it. It'd be cool to have a Zeppelin or something.
I know of one thing that having would make me a lot happier in life, but it's such a dumb thing to say that I'm not even gonna go there. Not like it's even physically possible in the first place.

What are you thinking about right now?

The Sky is a really good collection of his work on FF, even though it's 100$+. One of the better artbooks that I have, up there with Hyrule Historia. Although I assume everybody knows about that by now.
Pokemon X and Pokemon Y - the 6th generation confirmed!

It's amazing how good B/W was storywise - shame X/Y doesn't seem to have replicated it (just beaten Team Flare etc.). I'm fine with them not making many new Pokemon this time, though, because there's a lot of new stuff to digest as it is (new moves, new whole type, hell, new Pokemon models) and anything more than a motherfudging Keychain Pokemon would be grasping.
I don't mind if Game Freak continue making new Pokemon games, but I think it's time to put an end to creating new Pokemon.
Added every FC on this page, by the way. *hint hint*
I actually like the designs of almost all the new Pokemon, I'm just upset because when I play a new generation I want to really get into learning about the new Pokemon and being surprised when they pop up and stuff like that. I was grumpy the whole time because I kept running into shit I already knew about, and having so many Pokes from other gens cluttered up the game.
I'm just waiting for all the info about X to surface now, so I can read it over and check out anything I might have missed... Although I'm not expecting that I missed that much. I'm also genuinely hoping that instead of making Pokemon Z or something dumb like that, they'll do a remake of Ruby/Sapphire. That would probably be the only thing that could completely save Gen 6 in my eyes.
Anyone else set up a system for how they choose what to play?
I basically don't play RM games at all, but here's how I usually pick them:
Does this game look like it had effort put into it? (Usually how much stuff is created for the game, i.e. no rips or RTP unless they're phenomenal) Is it polished? Did it get good reviews and reception? Does it look original? (Not like a knockoff of Final Fantasy or some other shitty generic setting)
I'm really picky about what I play and difficult to please/wow, so I don't end up trying lots of stuff. I generally enjoy what I do end up putting time into though.
EDIT: Also, I tend to not follow RM2k3 games, because they're almost always broken or miserable feeling due to the godawful engine they were made in.

Recently beat the 7th gym and some, uh, shitty plot-related stuff. So far, I'm really liking some of the new Pokemon: Aegislash is an absolute freaking best thanks to its ability, and Delphox is a solid special attacker/support.
The one major complaint I have about this game is that it's way too easy. I should never be 10 levels above gym leaders' Pokemon, and it's embarrassing how most of them aren't even fully evolved.
My 3DS Friend Code's 5129-1407-0950 - I'll add you guys soon.
While I did say that it was pretty hard, after the second gym it really loses it's difficulty curve. I beat the E4 and champion on my first try which is extremely sad. Also, the plot could have been better set up, but I guess B/W was a pretty hard act to follow, so I understand why I feel like it's not as good in that department. What makes me the most sad is that they created this absolutely massive Pokedex (like, 454 or something?) and only created around 68 new Pokemon. I'm fairly certain there's only a handful of legendaries too, barring the discovery of event Pokes or something like that.

Sad thing is, you can't transfer pokemon until this December shortly after Christmas with Poke Transfer and Poke Bank (should've been an in-game application but noooo) :P
I would say that this was upsetting to find out, but after considering it I don't want to transfer my Lv 100 Blaziken or Golurk from White, since there's really no post game stuff to do in X/Y.

Which game developers do you trust?
I can't really say. I'm a pretty huge Nintendo guy, which I know is a pretty broad label. I tend to enjoy even the stuff that most people hate, and I'm excited for basically every new Nintendo first party release. The games may not be A+ a lot of the time but it's hard to deny the polish that they all carry. They also are generally less bullshit about DLC, now that they've finally adopted it.
The only dev that I 100% trust to make cool shit is Game Freak, I suppose. I love every Pokemon game, and their other stuff is pretty cool as well. There's Studio Pixel for Cave Story and Nifflas for the Knytt series.
Most of the companies that I used to love, like Square, Namco/Bandai, Bioware (from how things look), Maxis, and Rareware have pretty much all gone down the drain in recent years. I would name some more indie companies that I love, but really that market is only just springing up, so no studio has more than like, two games. It's hard to find a name that really sticks out beyond one project at the moment.
I follow Bethesda a lot, but outside of Fallout 3 and Oblivion I'm not that into their games, so I can't that I trust them to always have something cool on the go. From what little I played Skyrim struck me badly and TES Online was a weird idea.
