Pokemon X and Pokemon Y - the 6th generation confirmed!

3DS Friend Code: 4828 - 4707 - 8405
If anyone wants to pokepals, I'm on X.
Pm me your code.

Will do.

I had to start over, unfortunately. I was trying to do what I usually do and play using only new Pokemon, but they're just way too few in number this time around. Really disappointing. By the time I got to the third gym I had nothing and my team was terrible.

It's going better this time around though, cause apparently Chespin is a total beast.

That's silly. That's like saying that digital art is not "real" art because you can just open a program, press some buttons and Bam! Instant art! Sure, we can't say it's 'coding', but I think it fits the bill to say it's 'programming'. It still takes time and effort (and thus money), and that makes it pretty real, if you ask me... And last but not least, it is still capable of creating good games.

Also, just because someone chooses to do something for free on their spare time, it doesn't mean others don't have the option to sell it.

Gee, no wonder why rpg maker games are not taken seriously even when they're good, if even WE don't value the work behind them. xD

This is why I put real in quotes. Because it's a little sarcastic. I mean games that are coded using actual coding languages and not just strings in event editors.

Suzy and freedom

This game looks really cool. Pretty masterful use of different styles, and mixing photos with sprites.

Well, he obviously had to pay for that super expensive 2k3 "programming". You know how difficult that shit is.
I used to think the same thing, but really, the cost is like a wage. If you hired someone to do coding, and they are paid by the hour, the amount of time put into coding would be pretty high compared to everything else.

Since we all do this shit for free in our spare time anyways, it seems ludicrous.

edit: I do not condone this person for getting paid wages to do 2k3 coding. I'm simply stating why a person might put a high cost to programming.

Well, if there was any real programming involved besides CBS/CMS stuff (which people around here can do while still having a day job) then I'd understand. "Real" indie games and the like obviously cost a lot of money which is why I only get off the head at things like this.

We certainly share very similar artistic tastes. I'm not gonna lie to you, your stuff has been pretty inspirational, at least for how I design RM graphics.

At one point in the trailer you can see a 2k3 textbox with unfixed font. Pretty telling.

Good Video Game Art

Any kind of Model Art is highly approved. Not many companies decide to do it.

Good Video Game Art

If there's anything that I can say about my experiences in the gaming world, whether through creating a game, criticizing a game, or simply enjoying a game, it's this: I love me some good art.

I want to see the artwork that you guys think is great, whether it be posters, cover art, concept art, soundtrack covers, or even just screenshots of a particular area. I know that I find this kind of stuff extremely inspirational, and I want to be able to see more than what I've currently collected. I only have a small folder myself, most of which comes from Derek Yu's fantastic Tumblr (http://abobobo.tumblr.com/).

So yeah, let's see some of your favourite video game art. Note: I'm interested in official artwork. This thread isn't concerned with fanart of any kind.

Here's some to get things started:

Post Funny / Cool Images / Gifs here!

Took a quick look through what I have saved on my computer.

I have some video game artwork that I can look through, perhaps that'll fit into the "cool" category.
