Good Video Game Art
Good Video Game Art
If there's anything that I can say about my experiences in the gaming world, whether through creating a game, criticizing a game, or simply enjoying a game, it's this: I love me some good art.
I want to see the artwork that you guys think is great, whether it be posters, cover art, concept art, soundtrack covers, or even just screenshots of a particular area. I know that I find this kind of stuff extremely inspirational, and I want to be able to see more than what I've currently collected. I only have a small folder myself, most of which comes from Derek Yu's fantastic Tumblr (http://abobobo.tumblr.com/).
So yeah, let's see some of your favourite video game art. Note: I'm interested in official artwork. This thread isn't concerned with fanart of any kind.
Here's some to get things started:

Post Funny / Cool Images / Gifs here!
Took a quick look through what I have saved on my computer.

I have some video game artwork that I can look through, perhaps that'll fit into the "cool" category.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
I finished Windwaker HD a while ago, so I've been playing Hero Mode on a New Game+ for a bit now. It's a good challenge, considering regular WW is probably the easiest Zelda game ever made.
I've also been trying to play Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. Holy christ that game is boring.

[Poll] PS4 being manufactured with child slave labor
I wasn't gonna get a PS4 anyways, and to be honest, stuff like this doesn't really bother me. That's just the kind of shit that people get up to. I mean, I probably make use of stuff made by forced labour every day without realizing.
Puppet Heroes
Man, I'm really beginning to grow a serious hatred for all these "give me a bunch of undeserved money" Kickstarter/Indiegogo things.
Your project is illegal. Straight up illegal. You're using graphical assets ripped (read: stolen) from commercial games, and if that wasn't bad enough you're using RM2k3 which, if it's the English translation, is also illegal.
30,000$ for an RM2k3 game. Thirty. Thousand. Dollars.

[Poll] What do you think about multiple endings?
author=thatbennyguy
I hardly ever tend to finish a game more than once (especially in RPG Maker games). Do you think it should be compulsory for someone to play a game several times just to get slightly different endings? Even if they are diverse, do they add to the meaning of the game, or are they just there for frills?
Well, Youtube exists. You're boned on the RPG Maker games, of course. Ideally, the different endings should actually be different, a la Chrono Trigger. A bad example of multiple endings can be seen in Mass Effect 3. Like I said, it has to do with how well the game and the endings are written.
If I were going to do a game with multiple endings, I would model it on Chrono Trigger, or do something like the SMT example LockeZ brought up. There has to be enough of a reason to make the player want to go out of their way and experience the differences in the story brought on by the different endings, so changing things up massively and allowing the endings through different routes and completion times seems to be the best way to go about it.
[Poll] What do you think about multiple endings?
If you add multiple endings just for the sake of boasting about it then you're an idiot. Just as if you added anything else to the game for no legitimate reason.
Other than that, it depends on the way it's written. That's really all it's about.

What videogames are on your TO PLAY list?
There are way too many in my mind to list, but the most important ones right now are:
Pokemon X
TLOZ: Link Between Worlds
Super Mario 3D World
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
Professor Layton and the Azran Legacies
Skyrim (Begrudgingly so)
Bioshock Infinite
ActRaiser
Dragon Quest V
Dragon Quest VIII
Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Not really that interested, but figured I should at least give it a shot. I hated Galaxy 1.)
Obviously I have yet to obtain some of these.
