SAILERIUS'S PROFILE
Something happened to me last night when I was driving home. I had a couple of miles to go. I looked up and saw a glowing orange object in the sky. It was moving irregularly. Suddenly, there was intense light all around. And when I came to, I was home.
What do you think happened to me?

2014 Indie Game Maker Contest
Damn, profile didn't get approved in time. Here's our entry: http://contest.rpgmakerweb.com/game/view/id/583#.U7Ib2vldVn_
Less than a week of contest-mak time left. How is everyone doing?
Wow, what a way to start my week.
Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!
Looking lovely as usual! I think my only complaint is that in the bottom screenshot, you can see where the light coming in doesn't diffuse in a radius but just goes straight through. It should go around the corners of the entrance, too.
After weeks of toiling, we've finally got the first screenshot of our contest entry ready:
My one regret with this map is that I had to turn off displacement, which when enabled made the kitchen tiles pop a lot more. Unfortunately, displacement jacked the render time up from 38 hours to 60 and I just didn’t have that much time.

How do you make random encounters feel welcome?
By getting rid of them.
Random encounters are never welcome. The fundamental concept of them is annoying.

Moving on [aka goodbye rm2k3]
Go with Unity. The problem with RPG Maker is that each time a new maker comes out, there's no way to update your projects to the new version. You're basically always going to be facing obsoletion. At least with Unity, you can always upgrade your projects to newer versions. On top of that, updates and new versions come out quickly and they've proven themselves a lot more dependable a company than Enterbrain.
I eat my words.
Finding Eden
First of all, why did you have to make those stairs to the final boss look like a rock. It was a nightmare to find her.
Sorry about that! The entire game was made in a month and there were a ton of maps to make, and I was making them on top of writing and doing the scripting, so the mapping can be a little subpar at times.
Second of all, damn did that ending piss me off, but in a way that I can truly appreciate. Thank you so much for making this game, it was just PURE atmosphere and emotion.
Thanks so much! Those are my favorite types of endings. I'm happy to infuriate!
