Kickstarter Now Live!

i like the url, reinventing classical rpgs. watched the trailer and its just charsets move left with RTP. yeah dude, 20k worthy imo. you'll make the money without a doubt in my mind just because people don't know no better. i think it's kind of weird how i will cruise kickstarter and all rpgmaker users feel like they're entitled to at least 30k.

you don't even tell people in the kickstarter what you'll be using the money for specifically.

<thrallsfinest1> a bunch of yanfly scripts and ff13 menus script
<thrallsfinest1> plugged in
<thrallsfinest1> like
<thrallsfinest1> whats the 20k for

american dawn asked for 3k, dude. you'll see the difference in quality instantly. it's realistic, and there is a unique style to it, do i like the game? no, but it's a really bold attempt at something different and the details are apparent.

i hope you can understand where i'm coming from, because looking at it from my perspective RTP and battlers that don't animate does not=20k worthy to me. i mean, the trailer doesn't even show any kind of gameplay mechanics, it's just char move up and down.

come on, man.

<skelerotic> 2 rtp slimes are worth 10,000 USD so
<skelerotic> i am sure vacant sky can get 20k
<skelerotic> with the right anime logo

<RGB> i think it's
<RGB> bad to ask for more than 5k
<RGB> like
<RGB> you can expect that but
<RPG> dude
<RPG> this guy
<RPG> used my script
<RPG> and didn't credit me

Looking Back: Gens 2

do you have any insight about gens? like, i really enjoy these look back "articles" i guess because they stand out and get 1 to 0 posts, much like any blog/article on the site, but, yeah it would be kind of cool to like, explain your own personal experience with the game

idk dude, it is very robotic like, "x game is about a soldier being a bad heh" instead of like "yeah i remember x game, my impressions, inspirations, etc"

it's cool what you do but, just might be more interesting to read because like, the thing about rm writers is 99% the overview story blarbs are all bad.

<@Raquel_Applegate> yeah dude, like i remember gens was pretty buzzed for absolutely no reason. like the game was just fun. i think the dude was named christo-something and he was this white guy with just, this cave man frow.
<@Raquel_Applegate> idk it was one of the few sci fi games that felt like it was a sci fi experience, like it's kind of hard to do certain things like, it reminded me of king of games or w/e producing these reall y abstract screenshots. it had a great fan following. i got to admit was a p big fan myself. b est use of l saber eva.

Starless Umbra

yeah, well i am trying to give the guy constructive feedback from what i've experienced. instead of just circle jerking him, and going "heh gg bro props". and just leaving it at that.

the difference is i truly appreciate what he has created. do you think i would go out of my way to write that for it to translate "just copy me bro". i gave him examples because it might perk his interest vs "HEH G8". i cannot expect someone like you to grasp the concept of indie devs bouncing relevant ideas or concepts off each other to improve their craft, so lol.

it's kind of funny dude, because i thought about dropping a hiroshima burn on you, but then i realized, people like you are pretty much the reason why this site is so bad.

Oathguard

hello i am here for your viedo gameps

Starless Umbra

yeah dude, i played this today. like, i appreciate the detail and effort into everything.

it is really hard to get a vibe for the game, because its exceptionally well done in terms of mechanics and mini games or whatever. the pacing is really weird. like, i just kind of breezed through the text, the two characters in your party were really hard to enjoy. like, idk the intro is very hard to get into.

overall i think it is really impressive in terms of design mechanics. the battle system is a really nice improvement. the edits are very well done. lots of animations. i p much did the disco dance several hundred times. like, i cannot put my thumb on why i can't get into it, maybe it is the setting at the start i am not sure.

it's just an incredibly weird introduction. it's just one of those situations where its very difficult to introduce the "cool" factor with bandits raiding a village basically. like, it would be cool if they rode in on dragon/wolf hybrids and just started throwing spears into the buildings. even stuff like that is underwhelming because you can't do very much with the setting.

like, have a cutscene sideview of these animated black images of the bandits riding while the background is fading from sun to darkness and the bottom can have some kind of backstory to get you pumped. idk man, like i said great mechanics, great details. keep it up.

An Official *English* Version of 2k3 Approaches!

how is having this legal relevant to anyone? like, people use these programs because of the vast amount of stolen/rips. so i do not see how making it legal improves anything.

you cannot sell it, so, what is the difference? it would be useful to a small minority of human beings who actually use original resources, but that's it.

i see all these people all for it, and it's just 99% RTP users so, i am honestly confused as to why making an outdated program legal would be helpful to anyone.

it would not even sell well because there are so many people riding on the xp, vx, whatever train where they can just insert various stolen scripts to create A++gameplay, if they had to actually work on certain mechanics it would probably blow their mind.

Skyborn - Indie "Steampunk fantasy" RPG

author=Ocean
They're not a public domain resource, I meant that it's used in a bunch of RPG Maker games already that are released for free. I just want to clarify that point. I did not imply what you thought I did!

harmonic how does it feel as a creator who produces commercical rpgmaker games that the resources used to create your world is from material already used? i just don't understand. it's important to build a game graphically from the ground up and have your graphics and writing blend together to create a wonderful experience.

how is that any different from a guy picking up ff6 tiles and messing around? is that indie too? i thought the whole point of going commercial was so young designers can actually produce something of a certain quality.

doesn't that bother you? cutting corners for the sake of cutting corners. the fact of the matter is, i feel like if you're going to pricetag a game for 14 bucks i'm allowed to bring up these points.
