The Direction of RPG Maker Community

all i'm saying is you have no creative abilities. does that make you mad? you're using this website as an excuse, because you're an uncreative human being and i find it hilarious.

come at me, bro. -crosses arms-

The Direction of RPG Maker Community

this place isn't good. it's def not better than gamingw. but, it's a different generation of people, dude. you either accept it or leave.

if you're trying to draw inspiration from this website, it's saying more about your creative abilities than anything. none of these people, or this website should directly affect your abilities to create.

The Direction of RPG Maker Community

instinct is the 80 year old going to the tokyo hotel concert and saying "what happened to music???"

The Direction of RPG Maker Community

i think it is funny whenever someone has a bone to pick it will generate like 100+ posts on rmn. it is very hard not post negative content because it will get overlooked otherwise.

latest blogs in the middle of the front page?

is anyone else finding it kind of annoying to have to scroll in the middle just to see what new blogs are available? tbh, it's the only most likely "new" content posted regularly and one of the few reasons some people check the website.

latest reviews
latest articles
latest media
and then latest blogs?

i mean, come on, man, let's be fair, most of the side bar stuff is mostly junk that never gets updated on a regular basis. i do not understand the design choice, but i am finding it a little annoying to scroll in the middle for content i check daily.

like, if blogs were up top, i wouldn't ever need to scroll down because even before the new rmn, i never checked anything below that it was just pretty much zzz content for me.

yeah, not trying to say anything bad, cool site-etc-etc but would it not make more sense to have the blog posts somewhere higher?

The Direction of RPG Maker Community

if you honestly think he's jealous, then it's kind of hard to take the rest of the post seriously. and yeah, you are wrong.

insulting your people, lol. man, what are you even talking about. guy's just trying to express himself.

RMN v4.3 is live!

i think it would serve a better purpose if it was inserted into your game page so people who happen to cruise by can see recent trivial updates:

-ate hamburger
-work on chapsets
-crat viffgam

idk, i think that is the only useful thing i can imagine it used for.

Looking Back: Iron Gaia Series

a lot of people give the guy shit, including myself in rm history, but i have always told people i respected the direction he has attempted to take in his very earlier games, because i remember those actually standing out. problem is, a lot of people base how people act and carry on that bias to their games.

i don't think the plagiarism in his games help his case(this is what i have heard)

honestly, i don't even look at anything he produces through vx/ace??? because there's literally nothing that makes them stand out.

but yeah, i've liked the iron gaia series in concept.

Dungeon Design

i do not think people can relate to you on this topic. VX RTP only works on so many level s brah lol! JUST PLAYIN"

but yeah, good post. basic sketch design and layout are key. i think it's weird though, dude. i see less and less people create dungeon themes and just go with stock dungeon design. i don't know what it is with people who create mindless exploration without a reason, but you can spot it in several seconds. i personally never really felt the need to add puzzles, i mean some games do it very well, like zelda, but like, those dungeons are built around the puzzles and it's really cool.

not a fan of walking into a cave and they're spikes appearing out of the ground. i always thought, even in commercial games were hilariously stupid, at least put a room under it, with a machine pushing the spikes upward so people can understand why this obscure thing is happening. so when you finally see it you go "oh this makes sense" and you can even write in some kind of story and embed it into the dungeon somehow. the possibilities are pretty endless.

magi would really like this topic, he's a design fiend when it comes to dungeons and mechanics. it's good he keeps his projects under the radar so nobody can lift them.

-forest-
-jail-
-mountains-

it's all good in the hood, you can easily do these, but the problem is people are incapable of taking a base concept and evolving it. it's just "heh forest maze"

as for a personal experience, i hate mapping and designing in the game editor. like, in concept it's amazing, in pixel form it looks and feels great. and then the issue takes place when you have to cut and make sure everything fits accordingly.

it's mostly a programming issue. but yeah, like i said, good post, nice to see something i can relate with.

i'd vote "up" if there was such a feature.

CraftStudio - cool engine targeted into easy 3d development

if it does not have RTP or anime facesets i do not think people here will be interested.
