Commercial games are not allowed on RMN

yes, i am changing rmn one post at a time. no need to apologize, friend.

Commercial games are not allowed on RMN

he can sell an rtp game and generate x-amount of dollars but cannot read posts above. wonderful.

this site is freeware content. it should be kept that way. if people want to venture out and take another big step, rpgmaker as a community should embrace that and support it how they can(individually). it is a matter of quality control.

it's a slippery slope because you can understand where both sides are coming from. it's easy to understand kog's valid points, and it is easy to understand kentona. it is one of those "welp" situations.

advertising=asking for money, yeah, it's dumb on rmn. most people here are kids just cruising the internet and fooling around in rm. asking them for support and encouragement as loyal fans if they enjoy your game is that much, if not more powerful.

and...that is free.

Commercial games are not allowed on RMN

rmn would be the worst platform to generate interest. i'm sorry but, if he has the rule in or not, from an advertising perspective there are other "places" that you should be advertising on.

i didn't have a problem with vacant sky dropping a link on his rmn page(besides the fact he couldn't tell people what the funds would be used for, legit question imo), because if it weren't for 2 posters viewing it nobody would have even noticed it. it was off the page in 1 day (hello stupid blog posters with update:crat rpg)

if anything you did him a favor.

Harmonic did it.

hope you realize if it were jude, brandon abley, teo etc, the universal response would be "rad" "gg" "grats" because it's not an RTP game, where people actually have to put effort time and quality to generate a unique world for people to experience. if you're trying to do commercial this should be a base standard lol.

How is this even possible in RM2K3?

lol the girl has this huge ass sword and the guy has gloves XD

if teo wanted to crowd fund sunset over imdahl for iphone, i hope you stop that sh-t asap!

Kickstarter Now Live!

it's a prototype don't worry guys. the real game comes out 40k later. duh.

does it really matter? his target audience is not rpgmaker.net it's the various RTP websites like RRR where you just have, a million voices going "this is rad XD" -anime sweatdrop- without questioning anything.

you watch the video and you really need to just step back and ask yourself. is that really honestly, even as the creators, deserve to hit 20k? i mean, the guy says he's worked very hard on it, but there is no work on
the trailer. the coolest part is the video editing software effects.

i know it seems like i'm picking on this game, and i am, but believe me if i could question all of these people throwing games on kickstarter i'd do it in a heartbeat.

there are some really cool games floating around that needed to be funded for good reason (octodad2) but we live in a society where human beings can't tell the difference between a unique game idea and an angry birds clone and it just comes to zombie people going
"take my money"

Kickstarter Now Live!

it just hurts people who have prototypes that are trying to get crowd funding with over saturation of RTP games. like i said, i don't mean you specifically or your game, but it sets a bad example.
(the people who make shit like unemployment quest/echoes could give two shits about the indie market)

like, people will start to think it's okay to have a rtp game and slip through the cracks and hope they generate 10k or so.

you know how bad the track record is for rm designers in general, can you imagine if they got crowd funding for it? like creation said, people will figure it out eventually, but no logical human being should ever donate and generate 10k for an rtp game(unemployment quest)

like i said dude, we can be dicks about it because i know you'll make the 20k so, our opinions shouldn't really matter. it's not really about you or your game, it's more about the scope of the generic rpg games being rewarded for 0 effort.
