The Rpgmaker Reviewer:

Review Vote Guidelines
1/1.5 - so horribile I will not mention it. No one would like this trash.
2/2.5 - bad but with some good qualities or good
but with many bad flaws. Could have been worse and some people may like it anyway.
3/3.5 - from decent to good games. This is what I normally expect: entertainment. Some people may like it more, others less but it's ok!
4/4.5 - exceeded my expectations. These are must play for everyone.
5 - Rpgmaker Nirvana

*NOTE*: event games/jam submissions and other games that were developed in a very short time or with other restrictions get a rating bonus (usually +0,5), you are warned!

Sideways Review

There were no reward for finishing it 100% (((

True, but I think this is ok since the philosophical nature of the game: it is all about relax, and having fun so... you do not need a reward, just the experience! ;)

Thank you again for this TheRpgMakerAddict, it just confirms my beliefs that there's some really wicked cool rpgmaker games out there that we haven't seen XD.

Here you will find and download and play all the Hentaifilm rpgmaker games if you can read japanese or have Visual Novel Reader(they are not Hentai games at all but they all look great).

Sideways Review

it was a short game for a short event

And despite that it was very good, of course I cannot say much about it, but I think that sometimes it's hard making something good when time is short.

And I also love both Rmk2003 and the charsets chosen!

Bounty Angel is the only other one with a download. It's really short, and a bit different from usual RPGmaker games, though,

Well, "short" isn't bad, and "different" is good to me!

author=Sidewinder
Thanks. I'm going to need it.

The problem is that when you do something really good it's hard to do something better, but this can be done!

Thanks for the reply!

I'm sure I'll get it one day, but getting the second dungeon working is proving to be a lot harder than I expected and I'm focusing on getting a tech demo out for PSI Dogs.

Hm I should try your other games then!
By the way, it will be hard matching this quality in the second dungeon, so... good luck!

Final Fantasy: Endless Nova Review

author=Liberty
Actually, the levelling system IS from Final Fantasy! It's from Final Fantasy 2, where what you did in battle determined your stat upgrades. It's very different from other FF games, but that is where it comes from

Oh thanks for the clarification! Hm it was a system used only once so it did not become one of the tropes of the serie. Anyway in this case I'd have preferred they would have kept the usual leveling system (even if this is clever and innovative) as it feels more "Final-fantasysh". To me FF is leveling (but never level Aeris!).

Also, as to why maps were large is due to the era the game came out in.

Yes, I know that and the same is for the sprites used...still I did not have the same problem with all the locations, some are ok and others good and pleasant, (and same goes for other games of the same period). As you can see I placed this on the "ok" section as this is not really a problem for me but it could be for some other players that prefer a more "modern" or detailed scenery.

I Want to Bring Her Back to Life but I Don't Know Where to Start Review

I found the difficulty to be just right, but I may or may not be a masochist. (It's fine.)

Hey I know I've to "git gud"...I suck at strategy games anyway I see on the comments on the page that I'm not the only one.
It's ok, it is not frustrating at all, but you surely can't expect that combat is a walk in a park like on other games where you one-shot weaker enemies.

Aaaand I found your games to be easier than this, but maybe that's me of course! ;)

What am I supposed to do?

I was able to win at my second attempt using the peasant's skill (Orben) to attract their attacks (first used on the black then on the white) and focused on the black dressed one when she appeared. Then killed the second one. It can be done with no need to heal during combat.

The Best Battle Animations You've Seen?

author=LordBlueRouge
But yeah, these probably aren't the best animations, but these are certainly the best rpgmaker2003 battle animations I've seen so far and I'm certain there are more rpgmaker games like this out there we haven't seen yet.

THANKS to you I was able to discover this game (and also the prequel). Nice animations, and also great game.

My favourites instead were those of Psycho Platoon, I love the art style and the animations and the effects of the moves are really professional (combat start at 17:21). Impressive work considering all the other games are almost cool as this.

Chain of Retribution Review

author=JIHAUS
Instead, whoever had the game had full control over it and could do whatever they needed or wanted on any part of it, with no real limitations. At the same time, we didn't impose restrictions on how much or how little work each person could do on their turn, or the amount of time they needed to work on it.

And it worked very well as I played other chain game but this was the longest and best one I found!

author=JIHAUS
From the feedback we got, the game tends to be on the hard side but it sounds like you did just fine.

Well I had no problem at all, I got all the chests and I think this was easier that most other Jrpgs I played, not the easiest one, but I remember I had problem just with a couple of bosses (in the middle part, one is after the camp of the pic I posted) and with the ending fight... but I was able to finish it and I'm not a hardcore player.

author=Ocean
Thanks for trying it out!

Well I played it to the end, so it was a good game with a perfect length and pacing. I also think that the game is good as it is now, no problem at all!
