As part of the special #7 unlocks, which are all villains as Kaliesto predicted, Mateus (FF2) is now announced. The villains, typically, are VERY strong characters. Players wil need a lot of Lifestream Cores to unlock them, as they are all unlocked at once.
I'd also like to take this time to announce that each unlockable character will come pre-equipped with a unique piece of gear. The armor, relic, or materia that the character comes equipped with can then be used by any other character, provided they can equip gear of that type.
For instance, Mateus comes equipped with the Dark Bond materia, which cannot be bought or crafted. Once you have him, you can equip that materia on anyone else of your choosing. In essence, by unlocking characters, you're also unlocking free new gear that has a high probability of being unique one-time gains.

Ya know, if people could be patient and wait for the dev to finish the game and release it, that'd be great. Let them work on it and finish it at their pace. Would rather the final product be fleshed out and finished than an unfinished mess.

Vampire From Final Fantasy I (Vampire Class?!)
Also for what it's worth, NIer:auotmata (and Ariana Grande for some reason)`Are now in final fantasy through 6 degrees, so if you want a silly character in one of those ????? slots...
I kind of already know who are gonna fill those slots, I think; and they won't be FFBE released units (at least not as of yet)

Same here as a tester, I'm out of a job at the moment so I have the time to test the game extensively. Also if I might make a suggestion, why don't you make the challenge bosses classic FF bosses. I'm sure a lot of us would get a thrill out of fighting Kefka and Sephiroth with our favorite FF characters!
All of the Arrowny Gallery bosses are classic FF boss fights, and in most cases, they retain their attack patterns, with whatever special eventing they had in their original game. ;D

Hraevelgr... As a huge FFXIV player, yes. So much yes.
Hraesvelgr, Nidhogg, Midgarsormr, and the rest of the crazy dragon family will all play their roles in the story. :D

I've been checking the team messages pretty frequently. Good to know this is still on. ^^ How's the tester version going so I can get to writing? X3 I've been having issues with doing so without representation in front of me lol.
Gonna take a bit of work to get everything in the maps cohesive again, but that is the very next part I'm working on. No ETA as of yet BUT I won't go crazy writing things, I'll provide outlines for things for you. :D

Hey everyone.... while we all wait for this project, we may have another amazing final fantasy fan game to play... Blackmoon Prophecy II seems to be almost finished...
Probably not in good taste to come to someone else's game page to advertise another game page. I'm not truly bothered by that because FFBP/2 is sweet as hell and its creator is a gem of a guy. Just... probably don't make that a habit here. :D
In other news, while I lost my internet connection for about a week over here, I got a LOT (and I mean a LOT) of work done for FFD... and I expect we'll be seeing some Avee sprite goodness really soon for either Reeve or Vicks.

If enough people want him in, he could end up in there. :D
I love vanille. That is all. this game looks awesome...hope it dosent take ten years like kingdom hearts3 lol im kidding....but wouldent sora make an awesome character considering he is in the new final fantasy game..although as a summon.
