Project Lufia: Shifting Gears

I can see where you're coming from. As long as you don't claim the content as your own its fine. At least for SOME companies. Nintendo and Square will shut your game down if it is something they wouldn't fiddle with. For example, the 3D Crono Trigger Remake and Super Mario 64 HD.

I've always wanted to create my own series or a spiritual successor, but sometimes people start off with fan games to develop their skills all while showing their love for a franchise. I've never played Harvest Moon, but I will go ahead and try it so Stardew Valley will be more powerful for me.

Yeah, both my projects have either been corrupted or lost in the past, and now I back up like no tomorrow. Its the only way to feel safe after doing lots of work. You ever felt like you had a heavy burden on your back about your progress, then when you back up, you feel much lighter? That's how important it is to back up now.

But, I agree. Perhaps s successor of some sort will do. I'll think about it

Project Lufia: Shifting Gears

That's actually well said and VERY true. I miss the project so much, but its a lot to think about starting all over again. Well, maybe my current self can outdo what my past self was capable of. However, this time I'll bring back up. In the past, I didn't believe in back ups. I always thought technology would function right. BOY was I wrong!!

Project Lufia: Shifting Gears

Hello everyone, I have a request for something that has been bothering me for a while and I feel like Its something that has to be done sooner or later. First off, I would like to say that I used to have a Lufia game project that was going rather well for a time. However, a cataclysmic event happened where my flash drive corrupted and took all of my hard work with it.

Its been in the air lately, but how many of you would be interested in a Lufia 3 remake? Lately we've seen lots of Lufia fan games here and they all seem to be going well. My original project was Lufia VI:Echoes of the Legend, but since all my resources were lost, Its best to start over in another or a greater path.

The idea is to remake Lufia 3 from the ground up with edited Lufia 2 materials and even some original tiles and graphics. Over YouTube, I have found great and Godly remixes of some of the songs and as the first RPG I've ever played, I believe it deserves some justice. Seriously, just listen to the normal battle theme...

Would anyone be interested in seeing a complete remake of this Game Boy Color classic?

The tabletop game, Dungeons & Dragons majorly impacted me and probably has been the biggest influence for me in game design. Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid, and Parasite Eve had major impacts on me, being the first video games I can think of that majorly impacted me emotionally. Dragon Warrior was the fourth video game I remember playing (first was Pac-Man, second was Space Invaders, and third was Mario) and it's the reason I feel I became such an avid gamer.

I can definitely see why some of those games have impacted you on so many levels. The only one I have not gripped is Parasite Eve. I may have to go ahead and play it. I've heard its really good. In Final Fantasy VII, I could really relate to Cloud on a lot of levels. So many of his traits mirrored mine, and they were indeed flaws. The fact I couldn't accept that someone was gone and it was all my fault, the idea that I can do things all by myself never needing help, and an assortment of other things were all in me.

I also played MGS and it was one of the greatest games I've ever played in my life. The story was so fun and engaging. And the deaths...so....many....deaths! My little brother would sit there and watch me play it. Good times. Also, I had no idea you had a twin XD

Deleting old versions: A good or bad idea?

I'm actually looking for good midi tracks or tools to create/edit midi. So, yes, link your favorite!

Ok, here you go.

For anvil studio: Click the download link below. This is by far the best midi editing software I've found and I always use it for literally everything.
Anvil Studio Website

For Synthfont...download the free version below the first choice. With Synthfont, you can use various soundfounts from hundreds of games, game consoles, real instruments, or even orchestra instruments. Want to make music sound like Super Mario World, download a SMW soundfont and fly away! But my favorite one is SGM. I'll provide a link to it it as well.

As for the soundfont, look at this video and get the link in the description. If you need help as of how to use it, feel free to ask. It really is a breathtaking soundfont.

Lol, some of their faces are freaking hilarious!

Multiples downloads tend to confuse players. The only good reason to have multiple downloads is when you created platform specific builds of your game (for example: one download for Windows, one download for Linux). You can keep your development versions on your local drive for debugging purpose. Keeping one or two old stable versions should be fine.

you can edit the midi track's instruments with your preferred program and MP3s altogether.

What program do use / recommend?

Good question! All you really need is Anvil Studio and Synthfont. Anvil Studio is best for editing midis, Synthfont allows you to transform midis into MP3s with your desired sound font. Its an amazing program. Would you like links to them and/or my favorite soundfont? One of them sounds like a glorified orchestra.
