French Cartoons are Awesome
I remember watching lots of Oggy and the Cockroaches back in my elementary school days.
The show always cracked me up. Still does, it's pretty trippy.
Took a few more years before I figured out it was a French cartoon.
Uhm, cartoon? Animated series? Both? It's all a blurred line nowadays.

What appeal of the open world goaless games?
I think most people have that idea in mind (me included).
Although a lot of things are applied from real life, ultimately it isn't, right?
You're offered other possibilities and another life within the game.
That in itself is a big enough break from reality.
You could say that about (almost) any game though.

What appeal of the open world goaless games?
In my opinion, life in itself is goalless. Minecraft is like a simulator based on the real world, but with its own tweaks and limitations.
Minecraft can be boring to play alone, but I guess I would say the same about real life.
There's also a lack of tutorial. You learn from elsewhere.
And I suppose you can apply the same idea as from real life, and as Liberty said above -
Minecraft is real life in game-form!
I'd say goalless games are all about using your own imagination if you are okay with the world and the possibilities the game is giving you.

I'm sure you can make a comprehensive story by mashing together all the Final Fantasys into one game somehow. Although it might get a little cluttered.

Those airships must be flying really close. Does the masts and sails even fit between?
Also, it it's a war, flying that close is probably not a good thing unless you want to increase the chance of getting hit.

What are you thinking about right now?
These darn dark ages. Work all day and get home late enough for it to be all dark and soporific that you just want to fall over instead of doing any productive that you've had on your mind most of the bright day. It also brings down my mood in general. The wintry darkness cannot end soon enough. I envy the southern hemisphere right now...

I few particular that comes to mind.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
3-heart Hero-mode minimalist challenge. No upgrades to weapons/armor or getting items you can clear game without. Almost anything one-shots you past the first dungeon. So many resets in places...
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
100% Hyper Mode-difficulty clear. Not very specific, but f**k that bullshit final part of the game. I'm never redoing that again.
Mega Man Zero 2-4
Cleared with 100pts on all missions.
Metroid Fusion
Complete 1% run.
