I am CashmereCat now.

Twisted baubles replace my brain and I am toxic yet nice. There's a lot to me, but also not a lot going on up there, they say. PM me because I love attention, I do interviews, I do reviews, I do stuff. Here for the long haul. Gotta hustle.
I'm working on whatever I'm working on, and I love RPG Maker games that aren't traditional RPGs. Puzzlers, interactive stories, but nothing too abstract that'll weird me out. Just give me a polished gem and I'll stare at it for days, marveling at the way the light reflects just right, inner inflections, potato top pie.
I want to make games with you.

I bash thyself.
It's good that you're being honest with yourself yuna21. Personally, I think your game is quite engaging and features a ton of custom art and assets, and a lot of care has gone into making the game. Granted you may not be pleased with how the gameplay, story, characters have come along, but many others don't feel the same way that you do. This game has a lot of fans and you should be proud of that.
That said, don't feel the need to continue with the project if you don't want to. Do what makes you feel good. Either way, you've created a grand RPG that many, many people have enjoyed and for that very rare achievement you should be proud. Perhaps start a clean slate and make some more amazing games, or just do whatever you like. Treat this as a stepping stone to something greater.
And yes, you are bashing yourself because this game is by no means a bad game. I mean I'm not going to pity you but all I can say is be encouraged that you are a lot more than you think of yourself.

Cool. Keep us posted, K, in case a screenshot or something drops. I like that the concept is really unique. You'll be using 2k3 again? What will gameplay be like?

Suzy and freedom Review
Very well-written review, I like how you concisely and very clearly make all your points. You summed up the story extremely well, I was very impressed.
It's funny to think that most of the minigames you disliked I liked, and most of the minigames you liked I disliked. I can see why you would like the Beat'Em'Up and Love minigames, but I guess I only focussed on their weaknesses like unreliable hit detection repetitive gameplay and unfairly punishing falls. But in essence they are pretty good ideas.
But I'd like to tell you that the reason the minigames you disliked were enjoyable and even essentially awesome to me was the way that they used interactivity to portray the feelings and emotions of the character. For example, it would be easy to make a cutscene where Suzy types a report and escapes while her Dad is sleeping, but I found it extremely clever and rewarding that calunio tuned the minigames so that we feel more deeper emotions. We actually feel Suzy's boredom while we are typing the report. We feel the need to escape quick, because this is getting boring, and we want to see Suzy's boyfriend.
Another example is the death scene. I think it was one of the crowning moments of the game, because you actually felt what it was like to be murdered, and it strengthened the empathy you felt for the mother and father. That empathy wasn't as present before, but calunio masterfully integrated gameplay mechanics into the story so that you can *feel* the characters' emotions even more.
It's part of the reason why I wasn't entirely satisfied with the minigames that had more "gameplay", because I felt they didn't portray the feeling that each character felt more powerfully than the others. But I've iterated this to calunio too much that it might be besides the point; they are small nitpicks in what is otherwise a fantastic game.
Anyway, nice review Addit!

All Hallows' Event 2013
author=calunio
Final Sin is monster attack.
Along with Lost in the Woods and Resident Evil... pretty fierce competition in that category if you ask me!
All Hallows' Event 2013
@edchuy Thanks. I didn't know how to vote before that... awkward :S
I reckon that when the event is finished, voting should be on the main page. Because that's where I was looking for it.
@neonblack23 If you only want to play a few of the entries to sample the best, I'd recommend: Rust and Blood, Suzy and freedom, Subject, God of Crawling Eyes, and Halloween Bash (this one I haven't actually played but I've heard nothing but good about it, and have it just rotting away in the corner).
~
By the way, did anyone actually do a game about "Monster Attack"? That seemed to be the least popular out of the categories, survival horrors and ghost stories being the most popular. My predictions are (not my personal favourites, just those I think will win based on the judges reactions so far):
1st: Rust and Blood, 2nd: God of Crawling Eyes, 3rd: Subject. "Non-fiction" unequivocally goes to Suzy and freedom, and "Halloween Comedy" is probably squaring in on Halloween Bash. I'm guessing the "Monster Attack" category will be awarded to Death Wish: even though I didn't exactly love the game, I know judges did. "Survival Horror" is Rust and Blood, unless 1st place winners can't win categories. I didn't play enough "Ghost Stories" to judge the category.

The Legend of Jak (Demo V2.2)
Just played this game. It's a really good combination of action RPG and other elements fused together really well. I haven't played through it all but what I played was very captivating and I will probably keep playing it because nothing turned me off the experience. I hope it just gets better from here and it may shape up to be one of the coolest releases on RPG Maker this year.
LockeZ designs a boss battle for you
LockeZ
Science fact: If game design consisted of nothing but making bosses, and didn't include all that stupid stuff like graphics and programming and animation and level design, I would finish a lot more games.
I know this may be off-topic but I'm just saying a game with nothing but bosses, that doesn't include all that stupid stuff like graphics and programming and animation and level design, would be a pretty badass game. I'd definitely give it a try. I reckon you should try making a game like that. Kinda like Wine and Roses, or Shadow of the Colossus.
