ANIMEBRYAN'S PROFILE
Animebryan
1299
I had to "Old Yeller" my old laptop, a laptop that has given me a decade of entertainment, became the ultimate retro console thanks to emulators, and has allowed me to pursue my dream of being a game designer with both RPG Maker & SMBX. Now, ALL of that work, is gone. This is not how my 40th birthday should be. I am dead inside now. I just don't give a shit about anything anymore ;_;

Nope! There can be only one playthrough posted, and Animebryan and Darklord are still in the middle of the deathmatch to decide the one true Yoshi's Archipelago Let's Player! Unless you want to join them in a hunger-games-esque survival game in space with aliens.
Deathmatch? I'm pretty sure I ran through that game & completed it before he did. And as for the game play, I've been around the SMBX neighborhood long enough to run circles around most players, and of course, I had the unfair advantage of being the main beta tester that played these levels to death to have them mostly memorized.
Don't get me wrong though, I'm not saying I'm the best player ever, since my playing style is often 'reckless & impatient', but it gets the job done most of the time.

I've dabbled a bit in SMBX 2 and the editor itself has some newfangled UI and a bunch of other organization things you'll have to get used to (haven't figured out custom graphics or music yet) but it also has an UNDO BUTTON.
AN UNDO BUTTON.
It also adds a bunch of extra shit.
Like, tons of extra shit.
Not trying to make it sound like a bad thing but, it's kinda overwhelming and we might be best just... not using most of it.
Either way, it's still in beta so, might wanna wait on the full release? Unless it's like Minecraft, where it's going to just update with new things... always.
That's just it, SMBX 2.0 is basically a perma-beta project (kinda like RPG Maker MV right now). When I looked at the list of things they plan to add in the future (a LOT of things that should've been done already), it will never see a FINAL release, they'll just keep adding things to it. And as for Wohlstand is concerned, he's just using 2.0 as a testing ground to further develop his PGE engine which will also never be finished (at least not in our lifetime at his rate).
Heck, I bet JKB's Megaman X: Corrupted will be finished before 2.0 or PGE ever will.
The Unreachable Star
Wow! Not only on the 1st try, but you even hesitated at the last few seconds while making mistakes along the way. Maybe its about time I practiced this & give my LP of this game a proper finale.
Let's Play - Super RMN World 2 - Yoshi's Archipelago
SRW2: Yoshi's Archipelago
I did what I could to help this game get the exposure it needed by uploading my Let's Tests to YouTube. They're all privatized now but during its development, it was basically advertising that a new SMBX community game was in the works, though I can't say that it attracted much attention, after all, I'm not that big of a YouTuber yet (212 Subs as of now). In the long run, you really can't control people's tastes & preferences, so you just have to accept how things turned out.
As for SMBX 1.4 & 2.0, I'd stay away from 1.4 if I were you. It has 'bad physics', like, REALLY BAD. It may support new features like Starmen & such, but the bad physics aren't worth it. As for 2.0, it feels like the development is too slow. Not only that, it isn't 'recording friendly' either. One of the SMBX episodes I'm working on (Super Mario All-Stars Anthology), I've ported all my SMB1 level to 2.0 because it has Starmen. But when I tried to record it, I just got a black screen with audio (same problem I have with Binding of Isaac).
The one thing I know for sure is that the SMBX Community (as a whole) is far from dead. Although most people on the official SMBX Forums consider 1.3 to be inferior & dead (despite 2.0 being in a constant, never-ending Beta Phase). However, if you wanted to do another RMN Bros. game on either engine in the future, I'll hop in that bandwagon faster than you can say "It's a me, Mario!"

2/25/18 Version 1.whatever Patch
Well, you should check that 'last level' to make sure that killing all the enemies does what its supposed to since I did it several time but to no avail.

Wish there was a way to download videos from twitch.tv.
How? I didn't see a download option on the page, unless you're referring to video downloading add-ons or something.

Wish there was a way to download videos from twitch.tv. That 1st video is 2 1/2 hours long & my time at my local library is limited. That's why if I find a video I wanna watch, I just download it & watch it at home later.
