The Hells are alive with the sound of music

Unsolicited audio advice time:

-The strings and brass playing the lead melody of Holdana's theme could be a smidge higher in the mix, as the harp kind of overwhelms them, but it's pretty good as is.

-The battle theme's rhythm section is pretty loud, which is fine, but having the strings or possibly the little brassy synth come in louder would provide some nice dramatic tension via changes in dynamics. Upon repeat listening, the mixing here isn't too bad, though; I might be pushing personal preference here.

-The ostinato in Arabian Village is way too loud; you've essentially made two notes the loudest thing in the mix, so that's going to become a source of irritation for players; I would pull that way down so the lead melody can come through instead. Personally, I would throw in some varieties to that rhythm as well, but if you're trying to convey "desert town steadily moving forward" and feel a need to have an ostinato to convey that, then I understand.

-Ship Shape is mixed very well; I've got no problems with that.

Well, amateur game devs are still making games. Bill Nye isn't advancing any particular field, so it's hard to call him a scientist rather than a science advocate or an engineer.

That said, Bill Nye is doing a lot of good in this world and I like him a lot.

Yeah, well my religion thinks you're a real jerk.

Movies / Games / Songs that will make you cry

Can't think of a really solid example from a game offhand, but here's a movie and a song:

Yeah, demons in the true sense don't exist

That's exactly what Bal'Zul, vomiter of lies would say.

Here for the competition.

That's a pretty thin distinction. How would it not be criticizing the evangelical fever dream by taking that to its absurd conclusion?

Edit: To expand, pointing out absurdities is performing a critique.

Here for the competition.

That seems like really obvious satire to me, and I'm in a pretty red state. It's definitely possible to be shitty at satire and present the material poorly, but I wouldn't assume that of someone out of the blue. Let them fail at an idea before you shoot them down.

Though, I would remove the gays and lesbians fighting aspect, as I think that might muddy the waters (especially given the time constraints of the competition). I would just have an over-the-top evangelical staging a resistance against what is obviously all of their fears come to fruition. I would also make that character clearly gay through subtext.

There are plenty of Christains who are on board with science and facts.

Heh heh, Christ stains; you tell him, Lib.

Done with Music!

Thanks, y'all!

@infectionfiles: Yeah, this was one of the most time-consuming parts of the process. I've been chipping away at the music since I started on the game.

@SgtMettool: Sweet; Information Guy would be proud.

Tries to create game, sees a really good game, play it, know that you're inferior, cry at the abyss as it gazes back at you.

You've got to make a shitty game before you can make an okay one.
