If you could remake any videogame which one would it be?
I just rememebered, Warsong(aka Langrisser) is capable of a pretty good remake.
I would just keep the music because the music is incredible.

RPG Maker War Game?
No, don't try. You won't have pixel based movement, the collision detection would be horrible, and the amount of time it would take would not be worth it. You can do a lot of things in RM, but this type of system won't(and never will) succeed.
XP and VX, maybe. I'd wait for Action Game Maker.

What upcoming games are you looking forward to?
So, is Lines End still in production?
Laxius Force (Laxius Power IV) released - priced at $15
Good points Max, but there are still issues.
First off, team projects DO work in the indie industry. They work much better than solo projects. Only the RM scene is known for having such lackluster effort in this category. People don't know how to lead a project, so things fall apart in the end.
And he's not buying a game with default XP battle system because there are hundreds of games with the exact same system that are free. Of course we would buy Dragon Quest back in the day. It was the only one of its kind at the time. I do prefer the DBS over almost any custom battle system, but there better be some effort put into it. ABL did good at it, this game does not.

I have no problem with someone selling a game really. More power to him if he can sell an RMXP game. The problem I have is that this game is setting the bar too low. Sure, I haven't played the game, but this doesn't strike me as anything different from a regular RMXP game. Even Aveyond changed some of the graphics and the way things look. This is pretty much a game that's using a standard XP battle system and using the same graphics as any other RMXP game.
Braid is $15. You've got to be kidding me if this game deserves as much as that.

Yes, persuade me to buy this game when the trailer is a camera sitting in front of a computer showing someone playing the game.
I can't believe this.

What do you think makes an RPG?
Pretty much the whole package is what makes an RPG.

Music in an RPG Maker game
The problem with most RM games(IMO) is the fact that people mix musical styles. It seems that there's a tendency to throw together music that are different styles, and it just doesn't work well. Finding obscure music is good too, but the same rules apply.
If you're grabbing music from 5 different video games, they BETTER have a consistent style. I don't want to hear a Super Mario theme mixed with an epic Final Fantasy 7 boss battle and the Xenogears overworld theme.
