aren't you tired of being nice? don't you just want to go apeshit?

there's words for people who use AI instead of hiring artists and I'm not allowed to use them here, but i hope they know i'll see them in the northern territory

Cosplay Crisis

Would you believe when I say I have played the game through several times? Sigh.

I’ll take a look at these over the next couple of days and see if I can at least resolve most of the softlocks. Idk what is with the passability in this game, I’ve likely spent over 500 hrs messing with it.

I don’t believe terrain tags should have any kind of passability associated, that said— I’ll double check but all passability has been handled natively. I’m not surprised at music errors though I thought I’d resolved all of them.

But yeah, I’ll take this list and do some fixes.

I'll probably make custom beds. All the ones I have I'm not satisfied with...they're all in an awkward spot regarding the sprite size (either too big or too small), and lack the detail VIII's beds have.

Main updates for this are the back wall, which I entirely remade. I did it fast on the first version, and it just...wasn't good enough.

Has the deadline passed? It's still October 30 where I am.

Double check the end date. It finished 18 hrs ago.

Resurrect the Dying

ouuuugghhhh this blows

edit: its up, goodnight

it still has issues but ill submit a new version tomorrow maybe

Resurrect the Dying

about time to start high-pitched shrieking

I think i'll make it. Hopefully. will it be well-tested? lmao no

but it should feel okay

feel like it's about time to reveal I am not releasing an SLH demo thing for this and my team name was a diversion

Resurrect the Dying

These people submitting two weeks before the deadline....

in my day you waited until the 11th hour carefully planning out how many megabytes your upload speed was so you could attach the download to the event page 5 minutes before the deadline

Resurrect the Dying

how reassuring to see other people with 5+ years on their dev time

though I personally consider 2013-2019 a wash the years still unfortunately exist to haunt me.

Halfway point-- my goal is for a complete playable demo and extend out from there if I have time. I should be okay for a release if I don't do anything stupid, like creating full sets of idle frames and walks for the playable members.

Cough.

Resurrect the Dying

it'd be kinda funny to see count how many hrs my RMMZ time goes up by over this event, though I'll be doing databasing out of engine.

good luck and have fun to everyone~

Bullet holes notwithstanding, I like the sense of space with the map on the right. Much more roomier than the cramped space that's on the left.

This is precisely the angle I've taken with the map updates-- I want the player to be able to move in the space and conceptualize other people also being able to move in said spaces. A lot of the originals are really tiny with only 4-5 walkable tiles.

Old vs. new tileset? Looks like they patched up the bullet holes in the wall while they were remodeling.

Reality is far more boring. I just haven't done a painted/lighting pass yet. can't forget the immaculately preserved crime scene.

Yeah, if you're gonna put down new floorboards, carpet on the stairs, and new brick facing on the chimney, you've GOT to put up new plasterboard where the gunshots were. That floor looks really nice. The old brick on the chimney is nicer, though. Just saying.

I kinda agree, though I think the first fails to actually show what's happening there. While we can agree its a chimney, I didn't provide enough space between the wall and where it ends to infer the chimney is facing right out into the room, and instead it looks bricked up. The new brickwork is consistent with the source material and has a nice border on it, which will help with the upstairs room.

I've got a few more details to add. Mainly some coal on the floor by it and fire pokers, along with any shadow details.

edit: to make this post more useful, I think accessibility should absolutely be considered, if the intention is unable to be construed as a result of the high contrast. However, just based on what I know and the information provided here, it seems to me that any indistinguishable details caused by the absence of colour are very much intentional. It causes a sense of unease, in the same way indistinct shapes in the dark generate disquiet. Ideally, a medium between this sensation and accessibility should be reached, but I really would prefer Nessiah to avoid muddying her intention as much as possible.
