[Title Request] Dragon Fantasy: Venaitura
How do you like your world map?
On being spherical and spinable, I wish Enterbrain put MODE7 style graphics in RPG Maker 2000 and 2003 so you could get your world map like that. The old SNES RPG Maker did it.

I Hate These Internet Forums...
Actually I prefer being honest myself. However, with the 80% of the internet out to get you simply because they can is a result of the Greater Fuckwad Theory.
What Makes Stereotypical jRPGs Terrible?
I also thought the characters were really chaotic. Some JRPGs I've played have tons of random races and cute characters without explaining what they are. I'm actually a big fan of half-animal characters, but the kawaii cat people in the vid with the angel people just feels too chaotic.
Now, the Breath of Fire series has every playable character a different kind of race. For example, in the first one you had the dragon guy, winged girl, fox/wolf guy, human theif, snake lady, fish guy, big ox guy, ect. All of them barely spoke any interesting lines and the story was vastly improved in Breath of Fire II along with having even more interesting kinds of characters. Demon Katt was awesome! And don't forget Rei from Breath of Fire III. Now that's how diversity among characters should be.
Unfortunately, I can't quite explain what the difference actually is and you kind of have to have played these games to know what I'm talking about.

What Makes Stereotypical jRPGs Terrible?
I can say just as many bad things "What Makes Stereotypical wRPGs Terrible?" thing. For one, I'm really sick of how confusing the menus always were and how unnecessarily complicated the games were in wRPGs.
But for the moment, it's fun to poke holes in jRPGs. You've got to take it in good fun, especially on a website built mostly around a Japanese RPG Maker series.
And watch the video and tell me that wasn't bad. I mean it's animated very well and that's about all I could say.

[Title Request] Dragon Fantasy: Venaitura

I had problems with the ground, it looked like a cliff to me but it could be a mountain. Oh well, someone else can snatch this one up and make it even more detailed (mind the color limit for NES style) but I think the title itself turned out great.
Perhaps once I've gotten my head back together and focused I might consider making my own 8-bit style game from scratch in terms of graphics. This has spiked my interest a bit.

Hm...
Let me see what I can do. The NES has a palette limit of 4 colors per 8x8 pixel square. This will take some work. I'll colorfy the picture Lennon has given and see if you like it.
