Gawshdarn it! A little help with a tiring system!

There are some logical explanations for that functionality. An example being a Haste spell that cancels Slow in the process.

Yeah, but you wouldn't do that with priority, you would make the spell heal the slow condition. And the other way around for slow "healing" haste.

Discussion: Puzzles and Minigames.

Lufia 2 was amazing for puzzles. I want minigames and stuff. I even loved the weird version of Galaga that you played as one of the minigames for Tales of Destiny with the seaships.

Your favorite type of thing to raid in RPGs

Intricate Machine Stuff (like FF5 steam ship, and lots of other factory places)
Volcanoes
Ruins (if they're done right)

Giant mechanical crabs

Can you attack its weak points for massive damage?

I must say there are a lot of scaling issues, and megaman has a white border leftover effect too.

Copy and pasting commands in Rm2k3 leads to insane slowdown

You need to make modules. Separate everything you can, and you must be clever about it. And you just have to know how to program things fast too.

I need quirky classes and spells for each!

I'm not sure. It sounds like it might slow it down, but the only way to really find out is to do it. Anything is worth trying (if you can code it). The classical balance to having all soldiers isn't the potions so much, it's really the fact that they wouldn't be able to touch ghosts, would get owned by mages, and would fall to status effects. There's lots of things that can stop all soldiers so there isn't a need to balance it if your game has enemy mages, ghosts, and stuff that inflicts status effects.

I also like how they speak in tounges.

Increasing 2k3's picture limit

That's the biggest problem for me is that half the helpful stuff I see is in some spanish or german or something.

Also, the same thing happened to me when I wired two 7-digit number displays together.

Before, just that would lag the game. The problem is that show picture is probably a much much slower command than move picture for pictures. Think, it has to load the picture into video memory to show it, so it might not be smart enough to know that the picture is already loaded. To make a shown picture invisible but you're going to need it again, write an instant move event that sets transparency to 100%.

Now, to fix the problem, you write the common event or whatever draw the display *once* and every time a new map is loaded. But only once. Then write commands that use move picture if you want things to move and change, or just call the draw event once again if numbers have changed. I have a separate event for the EXP and DP in the picture so they update independently saving even more time- you don't notice any lag anymore and everything is back up to full speed.

Don't be afraid to wait for more than 0 seconds too.

I wrote my tool before I had my own internet. I probably have tons of little gadgets everywhere somewhere.
