Enemy character sets

Like new style Wizardry? That PS2 game had the enemies as vauge clouds of red smoke. No, I want the player to know the type of monster on the map and then if it's something they find hard to beat or not. I would draw some FFMQ style enemies but I think the player would have a hard time believing that a monster is half the size you are on the map and much larger in battle.

Though your picture might match my enemy the closest- which I think is funny:

Villages, Towns, and Cities.

Because of the way my world map is, I'm thinking of making towns that are alot like the Toad Houses in SMB3 in where you go in, get your stuff and get out. You don't even enter any maps, a menu with the shops, bars, ect. opens just like FFT.

I mean, if you're not going to make a living breathing town, why even bother? I'm sure some people might miss the mini stories and funny dialog inside the towns though.

Enemy character sets

I know, the problem I have is that 100s of other people might be using lufia monsters as their enemies too.

Enemy character sets

I thank thee, but I was think about something a little less Lufia. I'll use them anyway, the original artist did a pretty good job.

Enemy character sets

Hey, seeing as I would just love to have non-random encounters in RPG Maker 2003, I'm afriad I only have the RTP sets and the single Lufia 2 enemy sprite set shown below:

Does anyone have good non-random-encounter enemy sets?

RM RPGs...you have beaten

Completed
The most stupidest game ever <funny>

Played
Aurora Wing <someone was *really* dedicated to RPG Maker 2000>
Deus Card <this one was actually pretty solid if you could figure out what went on half the time>
Bob's Adventure? <funny, but it was painfully hard>
Dragon Destiny <this game is really deep, but i hate the not leveling up on monsters thing, and it was WAAAAY too hard>
FF Ancestral Vengance <kind of pointless>
KYNSE <that game where you're trying to survive as a homeless guy>
Super Columbine Massacre RPG <obviously had way too bad taste for me to play more than moments of it>
And that other really emo game that had so much story in it (it had a custom installer and a weird triangle symbol for an icon)
A Blurred Line

I haven't really gotten into playing much as this was long ago before I had my own internet. These were games someone else downloaded and he gave me a CD which had them on there.

I won't count Ara Fell. Even though it's pretty and the maps are so alive, I got overwhelmed with like 80 NPCs and the over-designed maps. There's such a thing as maps being overdone.

I really like Anime characters, but they kind of have to have a personality to match. Sure, it was all kawaii, but it was some typical hunter plot I've seen in countless games such as Lufia 4. I also don't mind cliche plots if they're still interesting. But then I didn't feel like pushing myself around the huge crowd of NPCs to find some enemies to try the fighting system on.

Looking for an interesting chipset

Oh no, nothing sexual. It's artistic I said. But there is a character in Tales of Phantasia who's just like you described in the temple at the first village.

wooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

You guys have given me much more ^^ you're way more helpful than other RPG Maker communities I've seen. Such a fast reply too. Thank you so much. I love the status in the first one. I've got this weird obsessive fetish for kawaii statues in games.

Yeah I'm kind of sick seeing the same 3 chipsets over and over when you need something templrific. Does anyone have a bunch of tiles of something different? Preferably not yet another Final Fantasy tileset. I want to put some cool altar here.

The picture is there to show you what kind of chipset I'm looking for. Don't worry if it's some arbitrary tileset intended for many different things, I can assemble the parts myself. Just give chipsets in a 16 by 16 pixel per-tile format like a typical tileset.

Pick your party vs Pick up your party

I do a bit of both where the characters are ones you pick up, but you can kind of change the different kinds of characters they will be.
