BICFARMER'S PROFILE

Veteran student who has the knowl that is needed to answer questions and stuff like that.

I'm making a game too, but since I am not an artist, musician, programmer, or writer, it's going extremely slowly. You can find it over there->

I also joined in a handful of RMN's events, here's some of the games I got:

Click here for crappy rpgmaker horror memes that i made during rmn events that were too short to make anything for

Personal notes:
- DO NOT use nested loops in RPGMaker
- DO NOT use centered origin show picture, it cannot be removed unless it goes back to topleft corner origin
- F9 for debug menu
- My biggest trip up is mapping. I really have no idea whatsoever when it comes to making maps. Which means I need to get a good map idea before I can make something even remotely playable.
Zack's Ultimate RPG Lite
This is my ultimate first game. It looks just like any noob's first RTP game. No RTP needed. About 1-2 hrs..

STYGIAN Review

should i get tr++ and streem freem games too?

I see u didnt bother with the final puzzle, lol. This game sure has alot of those random switch puzzles that took me forever to brute force thru. It's not a bad game but with puzzles like that I really dont think i want to replay it at any point, though. Even the first one (the 4 levers and 2 doors) took me way longer than it should have.

STYGIAN

so this is the guy who made leave, cool. The extra files suggested that there was another game before that, with some green haired girl with a knife. Wonder what that was.

PS: This game sure loves brute force puzzles, doesnt it

21 Jack Street

I played this and had two major and one minor problems with it.

The minor problem is that cards arent dealt or drawn, every card is instantly given and the game result is shown immediately after your choice. This kinda removes any suspense the game might have and blackjack is supposed to be a suspenseful game.

The first major problem is that you can't save your game. I wanted to collect all the trophies but I accidentally quit out of the game and lost all progress. I know its not a very long game but since you put in trophies (which is a progress indicator of sorts) you should have some way to save the game.

Dont look at this if you plan on playing this game
The biggest problem (or advantage) is that the game can be cheesed. You can retire when u have a bad hand with no repercussions. So basically I picked bet 100 and retired until i got an instant win blackjack. Rinse and repeat.

BUT, it's cool that you got a blackjack minigame in RPG maker, I don't think I saw a blackjack minigame this fancy in other rpg maker games. I always do like ppl using rpg maker to do all sorts of things and it was fun getting owned when I played this legitimately, lel

Aladdin

This game is extremely RNG dependent. All the following factors are completely out of the player's control:

- Who aladdin attacks
- what cards you draw (if you dont draw a shield early on you probably loose): too many enemies at once, like 8? By the time the genie draws cards i'm usually at half health
- whether the enemies attack aladdin (who is not very durable) or the genie (who is indestructible)
- early game enemies have very powerful status effects like sleep and if they hit aladdin with it, you are basically gonna be doing nothing until he wakes up
- you can do basically nothing for the first 2-3 turns because you have to save mana for draws.

The mechanics are very interesting, I've never seen anything like this in an rpgmaker game before. It would be much better if the player had more agency over what happens to them though. As it currently is I have to get very good luck (which i usually dont in an RPG maker game) or I get nowhere fast.

Theme Roulette 3

i thought i had 2 days, but it ends in 3 hours. And nobody really wants to play this garbage anyway. Not even gonna bother releasing whatever crap i have right now unless there is some kind of extension. Sorry.

My Home Town

Short RPG, 2 dungeons. Translation isnt the best but its readable. A wacky story about a bunch of school kids going around town and rescuing people, or something like that. The balance is pretty challenging but fair, I was kinda rushing but even the final boss is beatable with a good strategy. Parts of the ending scene (immediately after you defeat the final boss) wasnt translated. It's definitely got the japanese style, i'd say.

Theme Roulette 3

i did the other 2 might as well join this

Crads Crawler

Funny game, but several game mechanics makes it very oppressive at the start of the game.

- inn prices go up each time you use it
- everything from attacks to even CHECKING A CLOSET requires alot of MP
- if you dont use spells, your regular attack does 1 damage so it takes about 10 minutes to open a door or defeat regular enemies.

Inn prices going up makes it very difficult to grind safely, in turn making it hard to do anything since each drop of MP you have is not easily recoverable. The game didnt tell me so I didnt notice until it was too late.

Cinders - Act One: The Broken Earth

Story's interesting. However there are a handful of problems when it comes to gameplay. The balancing is ok as far as I see, but there are battles where you fight 6 guys and if too many of them use AOE magic you just auto-lose. One big problem I had was the chests in this game. Alot of them werent even worthwhile since they either had gear that I already have or gear that were somehow worse than what I already have. For example i counted 3 chests that had personal daggers when the most you could equip was 2. The only explanation for this I think is that they are meant to be sold. Another problem was that some of the skills were totally useless or glitched. The Magic counter skill does literally nothing. Cleave is a joke. In all the times i used poison slash I never seen it proc poison even once. Was it intentional that Cura only costs 5MP? Battle balancing was tight, maybe too tight. It would probably be impossible to defeat the act boss if i didnt kill every single encounter, since you learn key spells at certain levels and you would probably lose if u didnt have those spells. Also interesting is that the last two bosses were dealing magic damage that outpaced my conservative healing, but I managed to take them out by switching to full on attack at the last possible minute. The difficulty was pretty well designed to be honest.

R-0 Quest

4 towns, 3 dungeons. Streamed it and it's a pretty basic rpg game. There is some use of sample maps and default database items. However, some parts, like the soul bound weapons, are very overpowered, doing 1500-3000 in a single hit, so this means that most enemies, including bosses, will go down pretty fast. There is also a strange mechanic where your physical attacks sometimes cause enemies to gain the counterattack stance for 3 turns, forcing you to use skills and/or magic. The game is very easy, in fact if the male protag is at low HP he cries to his robot waifu for help and she automatically does her laser explosion magic, which made me feel like that time where your starter pokemon in pokemon lets go just randomly decides to survive a fatal attack. The plot is basically an anime where the average unexceptional dude goes around and ends up with a gaggle of waifus fighting alongside him. If this all sounds like fun to you, by all means.
