DARKDESIGNGAMES'S PROFILE

Dark Design games is a UK based video game design and developer (Jake Jackson) that aspires young minds and alike from entry-level video game design, as basic as 2D right through to high-end and consumer level 3D game design.

We work on games per request and we also make visits to schools, colleges and institutions across the country to help teach all aspects of game design to those intrested, using packages such as Alice, Granny, GameStudio, FPS Creator, AGS and RPG Maker VX.

One of our most popular and successful projects to date is Mystic Quest Remastered, a re-imagined and completely re-developed edition of the 1992 SQUARE release, Final Fantasy Mystic Quest.

Dark design games is a scam artist hoping to bilk naive kids out of money.

Final Fantasy : Mystic Quest Remastered

Yunalesca's a... witch. She is really hard. I wonder if I can reattempt the battle as many times as I like or would that or other battlefields be locked?

Any battlefield can be fought in any order and your current battle round is not lost when you lose. You could be on the last boss round, say no, then come back later and she's still ready for you.

Heh. Yunalesca wouldn't be Yunalesca without Mega Death would she? :P

I'll leave it for the user to decide. I'll put up two versions next time, one with installer, one without. The zip users will need to install xVid manually though which may be annoying when it comes to the full FMVs coming in. Difficult choice eh. :S
I somehow forgot the FMVs. Hrm. I suppose you could leave a blog that says that the FMVs require that software, and if users pick up the ZIP version, provide a link to get the software?

Sure thing :)

I now got Phoebe and am to do the Wintry Cove dungeon (first I plan to complete the battlefield fights). If the original Mystic Quest is as well as nonsensical and levels are gained so quickly then I think I'll die... Also, when do we have access to Final Fantasy bosses?

There's quite a few of them but only some appear in the main quest. You'll need to look in the battlefields and other locations later in the game for that.

This is just me talking, but this whole installer business just leaves a sour taste on the mouth, for some reason.

Anyway, my suggestion would be to switch to a zip file. If you want to aim for "Average Joe", than the self-extracting EXE that VX can make for you is probably the way to go.

Hero's Realm

Awesome work, you can see a lot of effort went into making this. I'll give it a try when I'm not too busy :)

Thanks i'll try that

NP. It's more simpler to use the 1.5 installer and you will have the game up and running in no time. Enjoy! :)

kentona : Sorry, I aimed the installer for the average joe. :S
OK in the next version I'll make a window which will ask the user to choose their settings or just leave the defaults. Could also upload a zip file version if people prefer that.

Version 1.5 works well, but I can't get rid off of the full screen...

Press ALT + ENTER together or press F1 and uncheck 'Full screen'.
In the launcher under troubleshooting it gives you more advice on this :)

I can confirm there are no issues with MSE. Norton has always been famous for being a tad overzealous :D

Hence why I use KAV. ESET is quite good too.
