DARKDESIGNGAMES'S PROFILE

Dark Design games is a UK based video game design and developer (Jake Jackson) that aspires young minds and alike from entry-level video game design, as basic as 2D right through to high-end and consumer level 3D game design.

We work on games per request and we also make visits to schools, colleges and institutions across the country to help teach all aspects of game design to those intrested, using packages such as Alice, Granny, GameStudio, FPS Creator, AGS and RPG Maker VX.

One of our most popular and successful projects to date is Mystic Quest Remastered, a re-imagined and completely re-developed edition of the 1992 SQUARE release, Final Fantasy Mystic Quest.

Dark design games is a scam artist hoping to bilk naive kids out of money.

I was wondering will you be adding the lunar trials from the gba and psp remakes?

Indeed :)

I'm curious . . . how many maps are you going to have to make for the Final Fantasy IV remake? I figured it will be quite a bunch!

343 maps in total!

Take your time man, this is definitely something that shouldn't be rushed - I've only just started over on MQ-Remastered due to the 1.6 savegame incompatibility, so it's definitely worth getting everything set up. I look forward to seeing what comes next =)

Indeed, this is one of my favorite FFs so I'm going to make it as perfect as possible this time round.

Well he wears a cape once he casts the shadow off and becomes a Paladin, as per Yoshitako Amano's original design, so I'd say it fits rather nicely! Why should only the Paladin's have capes!? Pfft, gimme a Dark Knight cape any day XD

Exactly. I was thinking that when he turns into a paladin he doesn't get new clothes, his armor he already has is blessed which makes it pure white, including the cape. If you see in my other screenshots of him as a Paladin you'll see that it fits with the new design. :P

Yes, Dark Knight Cecil is wearing a cape, a gave him that as his soilders call him 'Lord Captain', so this fits in :P

Sabin: Yes, I've played it along with the DS version (I own both.) My remake will be more of a convergence between the two :P

Wahey! Another DDG project for me to fanboy over! I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one too, make no mistake <3

:) I'm putting much more effort into the graphical side of things this time so It may take a while for a demo of sorts to come out. And great to hear from you again, sabin!

Try not to steal stuff this time.

Is this an exact recreation of the game? All the same story stuff, dialogue, maps, and fights? I hate when people do that.

I like the monster graphics and facesets, but if it's not using similar tiles it's not a FF game. That's RTP right? lame

I didn't steal anything, there was just confusion about the rights to the battle system script. The original author contacted me and I credited him for his work.

It's going to be a recreation of the game but not entirely the same. The story is going to be updated along with the maps and dialogue, I'll be putting my own spin on it. Think along the lines of PSP version merged with the DS version and you get the idea.

As for the RTP, nope, not going to use it this time, I've working on a tileset that will be equally good as the one in the PSP version. You won't see any stock resources in this game. :)

Final Fantasy IV has been released for:
SNES
SNES Easy type
PS1 in Japan
PS1 combined with Chrono Trigger as FF Chronicles
PS1 combined with FF5 as FF Anthology
Wonderswan in Japan
Gameboy advance
DS
Wii virtual console
PSP

I guess they could definitely use yet another remake though.

I've played the SNES, PS1, DS and PSP versions so yeah I've played this game to death. Remaking it will be an added bonus :)
