DARKDESIGNGAMES'S PROFILE

Dark Design games is a UK based video game design and developer (Jake Jackson) that aspires young minds and alike from entry-level video game design, as basic as 2D right through to high-end and consumer level 3D game design.

We work on games per request and we also make visits to schools, colleges and institutions across the country to help teach all aspects of game design to those intrested, using packages such as Alice, Granny, GameStudio, FPS Creator, AGS and RPG Maker VX.

One of our most popular and successful projects to date is Mystic Quest Remastered, a re-imagined and completely re-developed edition of the 1992 SQUARE release, Final Fantasy Mystic Quest.

Dark design games is a scam artist hoping to bilk naive kids out of money.

Wouldn't the revised sound effects from the PSP version be more applicable?

... well, except Bio of course, which had such an evil, chilling, sound effect that it should be kept original :D

I know the bio sound effect rocks, would be good to see it's use in the final battle with zeromus (I've even gave him a evil sound when he transforms into his final form haha)

I wouldnt even know how to start getting PSP sound effects -_-

I have absolutely no idea why people would be so averse to an RPGMaker adaptation of FFIV. If you don't want it, don't play it and don't sub to it, that's as simple and effective as it gets. For the rest of us; it means being able to play a beloved classic - with updated mechanics and additional custom fan-content. It's great and I wholeheartedly support it :D

Many kind words, appreciate it. :P

Thanks, now I need to start ripping along with you because everyone else out there that claims to be doing it is taking their sweet ass time. Shame that the PSP-E1000 is UK only.

Any idea if there's a UTSC version that allows changing of the firmware for screenshots and stuff?

The PSP Go (N1000) supports plugins also, and I'm pretty sure that's USA as well as europe.

Needs a PSP-1000 for that, right? I'm thinking about picking one up myself.
No, I'm using a PSP E1000.
Ah, OK. Now I know which model to buy. =)

Yeah they're not too bad a price these days especially with vita coming out and all. Think you can pick up a good one on eBay for around £50 (about $80 bucks)

Be careful when flashing the firmware though, you don't want to brick it. Another trick is using a very high quality camera (such as an iPhone) with a room with no glare if you don't feel like chancing your new purchase XD.

I don't see the big deal when someone wants to replicate a classic game (shocking, I know). Let the man make what he wants. Geez.

XD I know, right?
Btw your project looks promising too :)

You are fully entitled to your opinion, and I do agree with what you are saying somewhat. Basically I've played this game to death and own multiple copies of it, Recently my skills with RPG Maker have improved dramatically and I just want to see how far I can go and how well I can make a project as ambitious as this one. If I manage to pull it off, I'll be pleased. It also gives me a chance to put things into the game that I would have like to have seen in the originals, so I'll be putting my own spin on it per se.

Really think of this as practice. Once I'm sure that my skills have got to the standard I want them to be, I'll be creating an RPG based on one of my own stories :)
Well said. I wish you good luck in this project :)

Thanks, I'll need it! :)

There is absolutely no reason for this project to exist.

At all.
I'd like to make a similar point, but with a more constructive spin. I really have to ask; what is it that has you wanting, to put it bluntly, ripping off Final Fantasy 4? Sure, I can understand it being a source of inspiration, and it( at least the SNES version) deserves to be regarded as classic. I also have to ask; is this really your work at the end of the day? I wont deny that things are being done in an editor, but how much of this is just a copypasta when you break it down?

Look, I'm probably gonna get lynched hard for this, but it needs to be said; Why rip a good ol classic off, slap VX at the end of the name and call it a day? Why not let the classics inspire you? Even fan fiction would be a better route to go than this. My intent here is not to insult or troll, but to encourage (or at least try) something better. I can understand if you don't want any trouble, so feel free to PM me if you wish to discuss this without the excessive drama llamas.
