DARKDESIGNGAMES'S PROFILE

Dark Design games is a UK based video game design and developer (Jake Jackson) that aspires young minds and alike from entry-level video game design, as basic as 2D right through to high-end and consumer level 3D game design.

We work on games per request and we also make visits to schools, colleges and institutions across the country to help teach all aspects of game design to those intrested, using packages such as Alice, Granny, GameStudio, FPS Creator, AGS and RPG Maker VX.

One of our most popular and successful projects to date is Mystic Quest Remastered, a re-imagined and completely re-developed edition of the 1992 SQUARE release, Final Fantasy Mystic Quest.

Dark design games is a scam artist hoping to bilk naive kids out of money.

A question about your tilesets: you rip them from PSP release of Final Fantasy IV?
I have the game running on the PSP with custom firmware that allows me to screenshot the game. I go to the point in the game in which I want to screenshot a tile and post edit in Photoshop on my Tile E png.

The hard work is with the World Map since It's 3D, you need to screenshot at the exact moment when the tile goes to the forefront of the game screen (where it's scrolling in) in order to get proper birds eye perspective.

As for ripping, I don't know how to rip the game since its on a copy protected UMD disc. So yeah, it's all done in screenshots.

Work those maps like a pro 8-3
If I can do at least 7 maps in a day, I'll be happy. :)
I feel like a god completing one xD

XD Especially when it's done right haha :P

Huh, fairly interesting.
After fixing the tileset, I'd like to see a more fitting chest...it feels out of place.

I'm actually working on it right now, hehe.

There is absolutely no reason for this project to exist.

At all.

I don't care for your opinion. AT ALL.

Yeah, I know your pain with those stupid shadows :(

Just be careful...those events might lag some people's games.

Yeah aware of lag issues with many events, my MQ remake suffers from that in the World Map and Giant Tree areas because of all the details, unfortunately sometimes there's no easier way to do things without events. -_- I will be careful though, I've got a older single core PC lying around here and I will test it on that as well before I release anything :)

Thanks for the advice :)

Still working on the carpet tilesets, and regarding the shadow issue, I actually set them up as events to avoid annoying auto-shadowing in VX due to the way I've put the custom sets in. Just got to add another event there and It will fix it.

When the release date of the demo???
Rome wasn't built in a day, you know. Things like these take time. I'd advise to look at his other remake as well as at other fangames.

Well said :)

lihanliang:
I do have a website where a MQ remake is being offered as well as other games I'm working on alongside this one. Also there are some very good FF projects like Blackmoon and Final Fantasy Dreams that I highly recommend.

When the release date of the demo???

There won't be a demo. However before it's release people who want to test the game can PM me and I will add them as a tester of the project. The release date for the full game is aimed for 15th August 2012.
