EPLIPSWICH'S PROFILE

Just one of those who enjoys playing indie RPGs and looks out for really good-quality ones.

I'm also an unofficial game translator and have finished English translations of two top-quality Japanese RPG Maker RPGs: Seraphic Blue and Nocturne: Rebirth. Both games and their game pages can be accessed on the right of this profile.

Finally, I'm currently working on translating a visual novel called Aiyoku no Eustia :) I'm also eyeing on three future Japanese RPG Maker RPGs that I may plan to translate in order of priority once they're out and I've played them. The official and blog sites are as follows:

Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy Review

Strange... Not sure why the link doesn't work.
EDIT: I've fixed the link. The comma got lumped in with the link for some reason.

Anyway, the review was for Umbral Soul, so you can check and see if it's there.

Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy Review

Well, reviews are reviews, and even if Skylide's review isn't good, it's still a review.

If anything, they do have a 5-star review for a game: https://rpgmaker.net/games/8865/reviews/5425/ , so it's not like they aren't giving negative reviews just for the sake of it.

[Poll] Should Yume Nikki fan games be their own genre?

I don't know... These fan games are rather too limited/narrow-minded/not broad enough (for lack of a better word) to be considered a genre. And I'd suggest checking the definition of genre: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genre

Anyway, the polls have spoken.

Hey not to be an asshole but this forum is kinda dead, could you guys reccomend some active social hangouts (in forum form) that you like? My topics of interest are: Idle chitchat, pixel art, music composing, casual game making.

Well, it really depends on your interests. Like for me, I usually hang out more often in Visual Novels Subreddit's Discord channel than here nowadays (the community does talk about general stuff too though). But I've also been busy with other things.

Still considering trying to go commercial at some point maybe soon

Don't procrastinate. Just do it :)

[Poll] Does RPG Maker net have low engagement rate?

Wait, so Tuomo_L was Mister Big T? Ah, now I know who he is.

Anyway, Tuomo, I know you've moved on from the past, but I think you still have a long way to go in terms of making it big in the commercial game making business. It's a whole different ball game from making games as a hobby, just so you know.

[Poll] Does RPG Maker net have low engagement rate?

Okay, fair enough. Thanks for the clarification.

If anything, I think rpgmaker.net's engagement is more selective than other sites, and there's also the fact that your game is commercial. rpgmaker.net is mostly catered to free games, so it's going to be more difficult to find engagement for a commercial game here (maybe unless you have a demo).

But it took me over three years of work and it has professional quality artists who did the sprites and the character arts and animated monsters. Even their mouths are lip synched and they blink. The ammount of work and money I put into this is huge.

This is an award winning videogame that is considered by many to be one of the best RPG makers ever made which I worked on for 3+ years fulltime that I'm selling for price less than bag of coffee. :(

Ultimately, it's all about marketing and branding. You may have the best game in the world, but if your game is not marketed enough or poorly marketed and has poor branding, nobody will know about your game.

And marketing is easier said than done. You'll have to work effortlessly to constantly promote your game in order to reach out to everyone.

To add on, I've checked your social media presence, and I think you still have a lot of work to do.

EDIT: I've also just checked your game on Steam (http://store.steampowered.com/app/423740/), and apparently, the reviews are mixed. Not good. No offence, but people are bound to judge by first impressions. And only 8 reviews since 2015? Not good either.

I'm not trying to pinpoint faults here, but when your game only has 8 reviews since 2015 and you call it an award-winning game, you know something doesn't add up here.

And okay, first place for a contest called Quest for Fun, but tell me: just how recognized is this Quest for Fun contest? From the way I see it, I doubt it's highly recognized.

IRC is blocked at work for me. But Slack isn't.

I've never checked out or installed or investigated Discord. I hate voice chat, so I've avoided it.

Discord isn't just voice chat, you know? (It's pretty much similar to Slack, but has a neater interface). But then again, hardly anyone uses voice chat in Discord.

Discord is the in-thing now ^^
