I've been an active member for quite a few years now. I started my RMN career by releasing the Eden Legacy Trilogy of games (each entry took 4 months of nonstop work) within one year, and I've gradually shifted to creating other games as well. I now have 3 flagship series: Eden Legacy, Fragile Hearts, and Mafiosi (being remade for commercial release as Crime Opera). I'm pretty much solely focused on the Crime Opera series of visual novels right now, as my band and job currently take up most of my free time.

I find that sometimes certain files are missing from rm games when downloaded (or installed), and only for certain cases. You should probably just try re-downloading.

Epic Monster Dungeon Explore! 2 Review
Megadeth and Slayer aren't heavy metal, they're thrash metal. Metallica is just shit. I suppose their early stuff is also thrash, but highly repetitive.
Real people playing your games.
My games still have under 1000 downloads is total, so it is highly unlikely that it would happen to me any time soon. However, by telling your friends about your games they could in turn spread the word without your knowing it, so I suppose it's not an absurd idea that it could happen in your school.
Eden Legacy IV: Return To Eden
Yeah a lot of people have felt that way, which is why I'm distancing this one from the previous three storywise to make it more accessible. Glad to hear new players will give it a chance :)

Obligatory Self-Based Characters

There's an adage that every writer eventually writes themself into a story as either Christ or Faust. Often times we don't even realize we're doing things like this!
Anyway, I think it is pretty normal to insert a little bit of yourself into a character sometimes. For instance, I have a horrible snarky sense of humor, so in anything I write, my characters often end up with that as well. The advantages of this are obvious; it's much easier to write something we're familiar with than trying to identify with something we know nothing about. Though it's certainly a bad habit to get into to name a character after yourself and have them become the most awesome character ever, as long as you aren't using a character as a stand-in for yourself or for obvious wish-fulfillment, using parts of your own personality in your characters is pretty harmless, and can be useful.
Soli's right about this, we all fall prey to it sometimes. I tend to try and give my characters flaws that I don't personally 'think' that I have myself to try and set myself apart from them, such as being too confrontational (for instance). You could perceive this as trying to put myself above my characters, but really, inserting character flaws is what makes them appear more human.
