Gaming and game design are my hobbies. I've spent the most time with VX Ace and 2k3 (prior to Steam release), but the only thing I've ever finished anything with is 2k.

Psychology was my first degree, but being responsible for depressed kids was too stressful. So I got a Masters in Healthcare Management and now I'm responsible for depressed adults!

Fear the Deer :: 2021 Gammak Challenge!

What’s the deadline? Do we have all year to make the game? I might be able to squeeze out a ten minute game if you give me a year.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

Bought Call of Duty: Cold War since it was on sale, put about 25 hours into that over the past couple weeks.

Started up Fire Emblem: Three Houses to play as one of the other houses (did the Black Eagles the first time, Edelgard is a tank). Of course signing into Animal Crossing: New Horizons daily as well.

Intermittently making progress through Trails of Cold Steel IV.

Last Quest IV: The Prequeling Disc 2 Underway

No way in hell am I getting this finished this year. Way too many government audits and compliance that needs to get done for me to have spent more than a couple hours on this.

Xenoblade / Old MMO Style Quests

I find the generic quests to be a million times more tolerable earlier in the game while the plot and characters are still undeveloped. Especially if I am limited in how many quests I can have at one time.

But I can't stand when I'm told to find 10 California Sunrises, only to find out they are in a hidden cave that can only be accessed by piloting a mech into it that I don't obtain until more than half way into the plot.

Things to Consider When Buying Your Baseball Equipment Bag aka Sports in Games

Trails of Cold Steel II had snowboarding. It uh... It wasn't great. And Tokyo Xanadu had skateboarding, which was objectively worse from a controls and physics standpoint, but better as a concept I feel.

But Blitzball? Blitzball is awful unless you read all the in-game guides and really learn it. After figuring out the basics, I found myself able to enjoy it at times, but never came to full embrace it.

Persona 5 Royal had Darts. The easiest form of darts you will ever find in a video game. And batting cages, but I don't think a batting cage can really count as a sport on it's own since it is purely a reflex.

I think card games work better in RPGs. Trails of Cold Steel III traded the clunky snowboarding and boring fast-paced Blade for a refined Yu-gi-oh Lite experience.

RPGS... you've beaten

I just finished the main portion of Xenoblade Chronicles X last night. Easily one of the best games on the Wii U (not much competition there...) and definitely worth the price, since there is easily 120+ hours of content.

[RMVX ACE] What do you consider a playable/smooth FPS?

I find anything 28 FPS or higher to be playable, although I can accept 26 FPS depending on how fast the gameplay is in general. I prefer >40 FPS, but I don't lose my mind when I encounter locked 30 FPS like some people do.

Console RPG Makers (RPG Maker Fes)

It looks like a port of RPG Maker DS, which if I remember correctly, was plagued by space limitations and one-game-per-cartridge. The 3DS should be better since it runs on removable storage, but is it possible to create custom content or at least edit colors? It would be great as something to just mess around with on a long flight or at the doctor's office, but being limited to RTP (depending on the size of the RTP, this could be very bad or doable) is a major concern for me.

Planet Stuck The Return Of Corrin

Planet Stuck is a synonym for Earthbound. I just got that.
