Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

Oh, you apparently leveled up in shading or something. Nice.
Well thanks, what I'm really fond of is the thick dark and really smooth outlines.

Her hair is unconvincing but I like the rest of her.
That's entirely my fault for deciding from day one that her hair would be unspeakably stupid and illogical.

I'll probably do one of the Galaxions now, I don't feel in the mood to dev currently so it's all arty art stuff. Which is good because I'd done none for the last 4 weeks or so :(

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

I might take a hiatus from M:R to work on a game using wholly this new art style.

I really, really like it.

Bizarre Monkey's Psychedelic Art-station

With some new techniques, I started on a new style today.

I really love the bleaker colors and heavy linework. I don't know why but I do.

Edit: Updated to fix dumb ear problem and pointyness in the breast region.

The next RPG Maker

Lol, it's not as if I was trying to start an argument, I was just saying my stake on it and was explaining why, since we were all doin' it.

Not my worry, I can pay my artists to do tilesets for me!

The image is showing for me, but I'm sure you've seen a VX Ace Map before, the main complaint it gets is yeah, being square, which Ace did circumvent a little with it's cliff autotiles, though evidently still not enough. As a man who likes contrast, I'm just yeah, much more into the VX/Ace sets, that is my opinion, and while I go to length to express that, it's not an opinion I believe should be the same across every single individual.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

Was playing a bunch of Broforce recently, really fun unflinching gameplay that is rarely frustrating. It's parodying obnoxious American Patriotism and clearing a level is called 'liberating it' and it's, yeah it's really good.

Also been playing the Warlords of Draenor beta because I hate myself, but so far it's been pretty good, PVP's at a good stage and Garrison's are awesome. Oh also my character isn't using a model older than the game's public release.

One small thing I do foresee as a problem is leveling 11 alts to 100, at this tage (only got to level 92) it's fairly linear-ish, but if that happens I'll just get one 90 to 100, then try to deviate as much from that path on the next.

What videogames are on your TO PLAY list?

Oddworld: New n' Tasty (When it comes out on PC, not shelling out 600 dollars for one game.)
Ratchet and Clank 2: Going Commando
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Assassin's Creed: Black Flag (Waiting for Halloween or Christmas Steam sales so I can get it cheap.)

The next RPG Maker

My main gripe with the RTP is in the way they draw portraits, the tilesets for VX and Ace are fine, I share in Liberty's opinion of the XP tilesets, they look "dusty" and not really very good at all. VX and VX Ace's tilesets are very crisp, it feels like I'm in a world rather than a pretentious painting.

Like, Here's a comparison to the styles:

It feels flat, dusty and dull.

Compared to this.

The autoshadows here are wretched, but it feels and looks right, contrasted, if you look at the XP example, you could easily think "shrink that to 25% and nothing will be distinguishable", which is correct. Pixel art or not, it is bad.

VX and VX Ace decided to go with more contrast, if you shrink that screen down, you could tell whet most of it is. Because all details stand out in their way, where as XP everything sort of bleeds together.

I hope I explained that well!

Yo dawgs, I'm here for some games

One fell down, and broke his scapula.

But seriously, two BM's???
What the hell is going on here???
possibly one of my friends trolling me, otherwise i seriously have no idea

probably just coincidence, and he spelt the name wrong because i spelt it correctly first

Would you play a game with HORRIFIC art if the story is REALLY Good?

It's come to a day and age where if a game looks bad graphically it's more promising to have gameplay to carry that poor direction. I myself have been a victim to 'your graphics are terrible' in the past, a lot of that was alleviated when I started branching out into more styles.

As for story, depends, if it has charming characters who are well expressioned, graphics will have no hope of stopping me. I've been raised in a generation that isn't built on the expectation of HD renders.

I know everyone is jumping on this bandwagon, but that sprite is fucking beautiful ^.^

It is a mystery!

An instanced area of Galaxia.

It is not a mystery at all, but.

Stay tuned for a trailer, later this week I'm hoping.
