BROKENH'S PROFILE

Due to situations beyond his control, Ben has more idle time than he should have! "Hands" are the devil's playground and as such Ben is often drawing or diddling around in RPG-maker VX Ace to give his life a semblance of actual meaning.

A social introvert, Ben is NOT a social butterfly! However, he still desires to create forms of expression which incite genuine emotions, raucous laughter, and occasional deep thoughts. (Though often enough he misses that mark and ends up offending everyone instead!)

Is that the sound of your brains imploding as they're getting sucked into the black-hole of my elite knowledge about life and the universe? I thought so! But if you follow me long enough brotha, you will have seniority! The brain implosion technique will be passed down to you so you can use it on unsuspecting noobs!

Say it, bro, say it!

Also hipsters. They are so silly I want one in my game now. Thank you for allowing this to be a thing for RMN. You've done a great thing, really.

You can now pass down the "wise funk" to the disciples,Gourd! Carry on my brotha, carry on!

X-Noir

Just wanted to say congratulations on your kick-starter! (Albeit being fashionably late) X-Noir looks interesting, btw. I can especially relate to the main character. (Been diagnosed with bipolar disorder myself)

Divinity Fatum

I want to download this when it's at 100%. I saw a walkthrough of the demo and was very intrigued. This game brings up many deep issues about isolation, how people treat each other, social facades, and personal perception.

Love the battler art. Both the protagonists and monsters are instantly likable!

Status Update

Love the cute concept art! Reminds me of the Costume Quest rpg in some ways. (I also recognize the succubus from my sprites for vx ace. She's adorable here. lol.) So,you're trying voice acting too? You have more courage than I do!

suffice it to say that, given the level of maturity you've shown so far, I don't trust that you're able to handle the subject of rape with the knowledge and understanding that it requires, and that it isn't so much the gross overuse as the implications of primarily male authors making it such a prevalent backstory element for women (and only women). if I went into any more detail your skin and your muscles might flake away and leave you as nothing but a blackened skeleton.

That part about muscles flaking away from my skeleton came off as uber hip,Mawk. Points for that! But honestly, how much can you know about someone from them posting on the internet? I seriously want you to contemplate that. For example, I have two friends who are very nice to me in person yet they both admit they like trolling people and posting lulz worthy misinformation on game forums. Aka, online you would think they are pricks and wastes of human flesh but if you went out and had a drink with them in real life your opinion of them would be the complete opposite.

Just as I cannot have claimed to walk in your shoes you most assuredly have not walked in mine. How long have you known me? My short stay on RMN? Yes,you must have phone book sized accolades of my most intimate life details. Do tell, oh wise chronicler!

You say "rape" is overused for character development but really, what isn't "over-used" these days? Human stories have human obstacles. Do I need to actually justify that by stating the obvious? The character in question is not defined by her traumatic experience. She's defined by the fact she overcame her victim-hood and ends up being a better person as a result. Hers may not be the very best "victim to heroine" scenario ever to grace the annals of fiction but I did put a lot of feeling and thought into it. In other words, I didn't spin an arrow on a wheel that had "rape survivor" as one of the random choices for character building. It was more involved than that.

But go ahead and "harsh the noob" so you can seem oh so trendy. As they said back in the days of my forebears, "You're one cool cat,yo!"

PS: I know men are raped too. But should I be punished just because I didn't choose one of my male characters to be a rape victim in this one particular story?

If I had made one of my male characters a rape victim would you praise me just because I had that exact same traumatic experience happen to someone with a penis?

Why does choosing male over female in this case suddenly make sexual assault more acceptable as a valid plot device?

No, I'm not. I just like to point out such silly use of language.

There's a store I can direct you to where capes, monocles, and top hats are all the rage. It'll perhaps help you stand out gloriously amongst the common riffraff! "AKA",flaunt that superiority proudly, chap! Oops,my bad. I seem to have made another grammatical mistake. This is why the aforementioned store doesn't sell their goods to me up front. I have to go to the alley in the back to get the same stuff from a black-market vendor. At least her prices are more reasonable!

Aka, said comedian might have a "positive message" but it doesn't make the joke any less offensive to a big chunk of the audience.

Are you OCD,Link? Just curious. I can show you other posts where I used AKA too. You could say I'm generous that way! If collecting AKAs is your joyous hobby in life don't let anyone stand in your way!

I'm gonna have to agree with AE about the camel-toe. The nipples I can ignore since I'm a firm believer in shirtless men and women but the camel-toe is a bit too much - it's bad enough seeing them in real life. :/

Apart from that... poor girl is gonna lose her nose when she fires that arrow. Well, actually, considering the string isn't straight like < she's probably not going to be too effective with that weapon in any way. The string is far too loose - as evidenced by the strange shape of the string. Also, when using a bow and arrow, she should be drawing to her ear. It helps with line of sight. Her head should be turned to the side, too - actually her whole body should. One draws a bow across their chest, the hand pulling the arrow being next to the ear so that you can look down the arrow and line up the target.

It's funny, people mention the bow physics are wrong and I totally get that. Anyone think Amy's head is just a little too big? That's what I thought when this illustration was done. Not big to the point she looks "chibi" just I dunno,a bit much? I know Amy was drawn to look like an anime/cartoon character but still.....

I also admit drawing bows is tough. If you think this bow looks bad you should see the one in Amy's alternate concept art. I tried making the bow look like "red energy" to hide the fact I suck at drawing realistic bows being held by people.

However, in this case I think Amy was stunned and startled. Aka, her disciplined pose was probably thrown off by something. Even vets can be surprised!
