IROG'S PROFILE

Hi all !

I like 16-bits RPGs (especially action RPGs) where you feel the quest behind the lines of code. I also like strategy, puzzle solving, immersive stories, tabletop RPG and LARP.

I'm a hobbyist C programmer who likes to work on custom game mechanics. My very first project was a very basic map generator for Genesia, aka Ultimate Domain https://rpgmaker.net/users/Irog/locker/UltimateDomainWorld.zip

I also want to help developers polishing their projects with my player feedback. So I'll be happy to test your game !

See you around,
Irog

You know you can make your game pages private.
Pretty tempting to make Dragon Lancer go away, but still haven't decided to do it.

You would lose the opportunity to discuss its design decisions (both the good and the bad) with others designers... but the choice is all yours.

Nobody cares what kinds of games you made before
Wrong !

People do care about the games you made. You may look at your old games and see all their flaws but they show that you have the will and dedication to build games, no matter what your skills level was at that time. You've built bad games, so be proud of the work you did and the experience you've earned!

[RMVX ACE] What do you consider a playable/smooth FPS?

The best frame rate is: player configurable. There is no one-frame-rate-fits-all. I'm personally ok with 20+.

Note that your game has to run smoothly while other applications (like system update, video recoding/streaming) run on the same machine. So don't use up all the CPU or GPU to run your game at high FPS.

I Need Games To Play and Review

Hi Owellow, you've come to the right place to receive game to review proposals. If you like demos, I would really appreciate feedback on the early game-play demo of Wizard apprentice Lya. For a complete list of games, you can use the site game search: check "Download Available", set "Minimum Rating" to "Unrated" and if you want to exclude full games to get demos, set "Status" to "Production". Here is the resulting game list.

Throughout the game, there will also be some comical references to how most single main characters are warriors. Not enough to earn Wizard apprentice Lya a comedy tag but enough to make the player smile or laugh a few times.

Thanks! The classic "New game - load game - quit" is overused in game start menu so here's some variation that, I think, fits the theme of the game. There is now an additional "Elemental controls" to... you've guessed it, configure the controls.

Yes, this project is in need for an artist.

Thanks!
It also feels awesome when you defeat those casters. I'm experimenting a lot to make the mechanics engaging and fun before building game content.

Cover is exactly the word! You have to use every bit of cover to stay alive against such a rapid cast spell.

Here, I replaced the archers standard arrows the by Lya's magic missile to assess how powerful the spell is. And it turns out to be extremely deadly! If you want to take down all 24 skeletons of the test map, you face a rough challenge. To run the challenge, simply run LyaMagicMissile.exe from the game folder.

I can only imagine how crazy difficult it could become when the enemy AI will be ready and give movement to the static skeletons.
