FINAL FANTASY: RECORD KEEPER

With Solitude/Loner RM, my Lv63 Jecht was doing 10k with Official Ball and Blade Blitz R3 + Chakra R3. I still used Attack a lot, which I think was like 6-7k under Chakra. I used the Galuf RW that makes you invulnerable and cut it kind of close. Most people seem to be using Squall BSB for its 4x Fire Blade ability and are saying the fight is super easy. Illy's roamer is Squall, if you need it. I don't see his friend code in the opening post, but in case you missed it: rrsd

Jude, I honestly hope you figure out why it is that you have so much anger and I don't mean this in a way which is patronizing. There shouldn't be a need to insult anyone when discussing this topic. No need for that.

You're full of shit and absolutely intended for this to be patronizing.

Did you guys see the new FF mobile game? It's looking like it'd make Record Keeper obsolete.

Complete with a new money sink purchase program.

It looks stupid.

It makes sense for climbing, I just hated that Skyward Sword used it for running. Though I'm a big fan of how Assassin's Creed limits climbing - you can climb indefinitely on anything that has horizontal slats or ledges. It's basically the same idea as the "vines" used on climbable surfaces in older Zelda games, but with a much less artifical way of conveying it to the player, so that any surface can be climbable if the texture is right.

They could also just limit climbing to three steps of clambering up the ledge before Link's feet lose their grip, and then have the Goron's Anklet and Power Boots as upgrades to allow five and seven steps later in the game. That would be the most zelda-like way to do it. I don't dislike this way though.

Anyway, I saw this post on Reddit and thought it was neat. Someone located the ruins of Ocarina of Time's Castle Town and Hyrule Castle in Breath of the Wild's trailer videos. Combined with the fact that there are Koroks present, and Koroks were created by the Deku Tree as a direct result of Wind Waker's flood, it seems like this is probably set long after Wind Waker when the waters have subsided. However that's just speculation at this point (there's no reason Koroks couldn't exist in other timelines, and no reason they couldn't retcon them to have always existed)

It would be much more limited if the climbing were like Assassin's Creed, because grabbable ledges are defined and deliberately placed. In Breath of the Wild you can climb any arbitrary surface. It can't take place after Wind Waker because the Master Sword is in Ganondorf's skull, not the woods.

Why did they bring back the fucking stamina meter from Skyward Sword? That shit was the worst.

How else are they going to put a throttle on climbing? It's such a flexible transportation method that it could break the game otherwise.

Nightmare Neo Bahamut mastery:

Interesting fight that took me a few tries. My initial attempt used a Stoneskin RW with five summoners, which was wiped by Nightmare Gigaflare. My second attempt switched to Lulu's Focus, but I couldn't survive the endless megaflares in the weak phase, even with both Shellga, a +50% RES buff, and somebody using a party cure every turn. I decided a wall was too critical for this fight so I swapped Aeris for Y'shtola and mastered it with the imaged party.

If you want to destroy the magic orbs fast enough then you'll need either a Hastega, summon SSBs, or be able to stack Faithga effects (which is what I did with Focus and Mana's Paean). Otherwise, you will probably get wiped by Nightmare Gigaflare. You might be able to edge it with Bahamut, but I haven't crafted any 5* Summons yet. I can get in two Swift Bolts and one action from everybody else within the timeframe where the magic orbs become targetable and Neo Bahamut uses Nightmare Gigaflare, which is just barely too weak to destroy the orbs without some oomph behind your spells. Hastega should get you a second action from everybody and win the day.

Got a new item from today's daily draw: 2* Gaia Gear (FF4).

Neo Bahamut tonight, though I won't get to it straight away. I have a feeling I'm going to get a third Lullaby Rod. Weirdly close...Got a Yuna weapon: Magistral Rod. Also got a second Aurora Rod (Aeris) and Holy Wand (Arc's group Cura and +RES). So a pretty good pull that netted me two of the things I desire, even if they are on the lower end: offensive white mage and a +RES. Disappointingly, the Holy Wand doesn't increase holy damage. Apparently its SB also damages undead, though that isn't in its description--apparently this is inaccurate. The ability has a damage multiplier against undead, but has no means of actually targeting enemies so its just vestigial fields in the json.

Onion Knight just came out in Japan and looks pretty dope. In traditional Onion Knight fashion, the character is an extremely late bloomer and has sub-core stats until he's up to level 90-ish, and at Lv99 his ATK, MND, MAG, SPD, and HP are comparable to specialists, with solid DEF/RES. He can equip nearly every weapon type, including Tomes. He starts with Mastery-3 in Combat, Support, Celerity, Ninja, Black, and White, but all of these can be upgraded to Mastery-6 via the upcoming Record Sphere grid system. His event also comes with a BSB and two SSBs: One is a Hastega/Boostgs/Faithga, one is physical damage, and the other is magical damage. Seems like a very powerful and versatile character with a high probability to get a strong relic for.

Ultimate Dream Stooges

Ultimate+ Vargas

Easy fights. With only Power Break, Vargas's Ultimate Gale Cut is very non-threatening. His Bum Rush still hits for 1.4k four times, though, so that can be a problem if you can't kill him fast enough due to his weak phase speed. Power Breakdown and Full Break together should bring that damage way down and you won't need to sprint at the end, though. I was hoping for a Physical Blink but was satisfied with a group Curaga/Hastega for a similar enough effect, because Vargas targets the highest HP with his Bum Rush, such that the damage is spread out and a group cure counters that.

As the OP of this thread, I'd like it if you preemptively dropped any personal hostilities before entering. And if I'm not authority enough, here's this from the post immediately before yours:

Go back to jerking off to belly inflated Sonic the Hedgehog porn.

Or you don't know the answer. :)

Maybe you should reread what I've said. The part about you misunderstanding and misquoting me was true. I was going to chalk it up to misreading it, but I've decided you're just stupid instead.
