Moonsong: First Verse
+++ DynRPG - The RM2k3 Plugin SDK +++
Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask, but is there any chance someone could help me out by making a quickpatch or plugin that would turn on a switch after battle if the battle ended in victory (and another switch if the characters fled, that would also be nice).
If such a patch exists and somebody could point me toward it that would also be excellent.
I would like it so that certain events ran only if the player won a battle (and not if they fled, or vice versa) and as far as I know there is no way to do this by default.

Moonsong v1.0 download has arrived!
Oh well ok, I believed that because I did not see the "complete" status! Well great, then I'll have no qualms in reviewing it! ;)
Very good point! I have updated the status!

Cool cool cool. I haven't played an Rpg Maker game in years!
Now is a great time to break that habit and try a new game ;D

I playtested this game. It's great and I highly recommend it. Not sure I'll give it a second run, but if I do, I'll write it a review.
I'd love any and all reviews!

Nice! I agree with Calunio, Cool game and great mapping . This release is the good excuse to try the game again to see the changes from the playtest version and try the other characters. I know it's not a complete game but it deserves a review, and a good one!
For all intents and purposes, this is a complete game. If a Second Verse is released, it will be quite far down the line, so I wouldn't call this a demo. And like I said, I'd love a review =)

@Frogge:
That looks very cool. What time period is it set in?
@Giznads:
Everything looks amazing. I'm a big fan of the post-apocalyptic stuff, and you've done it really well. It's chaotic and overgrown, just right.
I hate the pink arrows, though. I know you say the player can turn them off, but without them how would they possibly know about those side-facing doors? Maybe some other indicator would better, like a half-open door we can see, or a prompt based on proximity, like Ramshackin. It just seems like a shame to make this immersive looking world and then cover it up with flashing UI elements. Same goes for the "Z ACTION" prompt. It seems like... too big, too bold, for the desolate backdrop.

A cozy little town in Moonsong, which is now fully playable.

how to fix map tree data is corrupt for a game?
If you downloaded a game and its map tree is corrupt then the game is likely "protected" so that you cannot edit the game files.
There is nothing you can do about this except play it from the RPG_RT.exe and not use the editor. It should work fine so long as you don't try to open it in RPGMaker.

@Gretgor:
I didn't do much, but I'd be flattered!
@Jpratt:
That's looking very cool. Will terrain play a big role in the combat mechanics? Because the way it's looking now, it's very clearly displayed and would lend itself well to terrain-focused skills and modifiers.

oh no I didn't mean to disparage mansions I love mansions please don't beat me up
@Darken:
You're obviously working with a very cool style, but I think the filter is t o o p o w e r f u l if for no reason other than that it's covering up some pretty moody artwork underneath. I'm sure it looks less obfuscating during movement, though.
@Punkitt:
damg that looks cool as heck. I am very intrigued by the rusty silo in the backdrop of that battle scene. Disproportionately so tbh
@Koopa:
I love mirrors in 2D games. So many chances to pull off cool visual tricks. Don't disappoint me
@Jpratt:
It looks like a cool style, and I want to see more of it to get a better feel for how it works in game!
@orange:
Every time you post a screenshot your artwork gets better, and it was already pretty good to begin with. Top marks!
@Deck:
NOBODY WILL EVER FIND THE TOP SECRET CHESTS
@gretgor:
Maybe solid black dividers is an overcompensation?
I think that the thick borders made it look a bit less like it was drawn on and more like it was... recessed into the paper. How about (a middle ground):

[RM2K3] Map tree/database corrupted?
I can't recommend any fixes for this at the moment, but 1357kb is definitely not the default ldb size. I have two projects. One has a massive database and is 860kb, the other has a much smaller database but far more Battle Event coding and is 1250kb.
There is this tutorial if you have another copy of your game (even a broken one) (near the bottom of the tutorial, you just make a map change and save changes, which should give you a new lmt).
