Old-School vs. New-School

Hmm. I don't generally classify my games as old school or new school. I'd say they're all pretty much old school graphically, as RM doesn't quite let me do 3D.

Actually, Paradise Blue was an experiment, when I was working off of one of Ephiams game. I had a lot of fun working on fixing it and adding things that I just went overboard and made it my game. I look to good old school games on how they do dungeons, battles, character growth and stuff. FF6 is a really good example and a great game to learn from. But otherwise, I like to try different things. My previous games are nothing like Paradise Blue. My future games aren't likely to be like Paradise Blue.

Also, working on 8 bit style graphics helped me learn a lot about doing pixel art, so I would recommend it if you like making custom stuff. With all the restrictions and stuff, it can actually be harder to make graphics for it than if you have complete freedom to do whatever.

About copying games, I do take what I like from them, but other than PB, I don't tend to make games based on others. But overall, I want it to be fun to play.

RMN v2

RPG Maker Network v2 Update by WIP
Work is progressing on RMN v2. We are planning to shutdown the site on Friday, January 17th at approximately 6 PM Mountain time. This is to lock out new entries into the database so everything can be upgraded properly.

How long will the site be down? Until the next morning. There might be a few bumps along the road, but they should all be ironed out over the weekend.

<You know, I wonder if someone should tell WIP that the January 18 is the Friday.>
<Not Jan 17.>

Ocean stuffs

Ah, definitely (to both anatomy and boobs). I'll give an excuse that I haven't been actually drawing stuff for a while, which is regardless still an excuse.

Sure, if you want to write out the issues with it, I'll look it over and see what I need to fix for next time. I think I screwed up the eye placement though.

Ocean stuffs

Apparently I'm really slow and coloring and digital inking something. Here's a new piece. Mix of Haruhi and Shinobu. "Shiruhi"

!!!

I understand that, it's just to make people think. Some equate length with fun, and those are 2 seperate things. Obviously if it's long and good, then it'd be better than if it were 2 minutes long and good. But making it long just for the sake of adding time actually can make it less fun.

!!!

Make bigger maps instead. Either that or don't make as long of a game. Long doesn't make a game good.

I need help with a few things.

Make the avatars battle like FF3? I don't quite understand. If you mean summon creatures, I'd use battle animations for that. If you mean having your characters show up like in a side view battle system, well, either RPG Maker 2003 or XP with a side view script would be what you're looking for. Or you could use battle animations in 2000 but it's just limited to showing your character when you attack.

Need help for RAcing game

If you make the map 9 tiles bigger in every side, and have that part not be driveable in, I believe your character should remain in the middle of the view because you'll never hit any of the edges of the actual map. Well, that's what I'd do in RM2K3 if I weren't relying on a panorama for that.

Distribution

Try this. I don't have RMXP so I've never been able to verify if it actually works or not.

You don't see a huge "New page" button on top, right next to the events name?
