Skyrim Hype Thread: Undead Chicken Soup for the Dragon's Soul

Giants are awesome, I saw a bunch of mammoths, tried to get closer. One of the giants walked to me, and went into battle stance... I was like WTF, okay dude okay, I'm leaving, then I took a few steps back, and he calmed down and went back.

Awesome.

Other funny encounter, saw a dragon fighting a giant, so I'm like, okay, I got this, I will help the giant and perhaps get a dragon soul. Dragon lands in front of the giant, and I accidentaly hit both with Fuss (or is it Puss?). Giant gets kinda mad and the next thing I know, I am flying in the air exactly like that bear in Craze's video. I laughed. Then reloaded.

Don't know if the power of their attacks is just easter an egg or intended, but giants are waaaay too awesome.

EDIT: Oh Im just throwing this here.... :

Haha, yeah, the main theme is just too awesome, using the Morrowind theme "Call of Magic" as a base (kinda), which just further shows how they tried to make the game more like Morrowind than Oblivion (which I APPROVE).
Isn't it the main theme for the series in general?

Hmm, don't know about the themes for Arena/Daggerfall, but the Oblivion one is kinda similar too, you're right :D But the Skyrim theme feels much closer to the Morrowind one, there are even those drums at the end of the theme that play at the beginning of the Morrowind theme (sorry for the wording, hope it makes sense :D ).

By the way, two questions:
1) Do monsters in dungeons ever respawn after the dungeon is "cleared"?
2) The "finishing moves" occur at random, or do they have some kind of pattern?

Is it only me or does Whiterun feel like "Minas Tirith meets The Golden Hall" ? :D
Anyways, the world is way too awesome, been only to one dungeon, but it was a FUN one, unlike most of the dungeons in Oblivion, they really took the fans reactions to heart.

I wonder how well my character will work, a female dark elf, wielding a sword in one hand and some spells in the other, clad in heavy armor. I love what they did to spells btw, no spell crafting kinda limits them, but at least the spells seem to be more diverse (keep holding to cast a continuous stream of fire, kinda like inferno in Diablo 2, hell yes).

And so far, I haven't encountered any bugs or major issues with the game, which is quite a surprise, given this IS a Bethesda game. Only one or two minor framerate issues so far (on PS3 that is), and one minor graphical glitch that went away almost immediately. Quite a pleasant surprise.

Needless to say, I will be spending quite some time with this game I reckon :)

That video is waaay too awesome :D

Anyways, the shop had my copy ready, so I will finish one episode of Doctor Who and then... SKYRIM HERE I COME.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

SKYRIM, nuff said. Lets see how good it actually is.

Hmm no preorder for me, but hopefully my favourite game shop will "reserve" one copy at the store for me as I asked them. I will be VERY disappointed if there are no copies left at the store when I get there after I phone them and ask if the game already arrived.

The game actually arrived over 8 days ago, they're just not allowed to sell it. : )

If they say otherwise, they're lying.

Hope so, that would mean that it WILL be aviable tomorrow. But since I live in Czech Republic... and quite a small city too, it's quite possible that it will arrive tomorrow (at the earliest) :/

Anyways, in their mail they said the game is arriving today overnight/early tomorrow, so fingers crossed that I can get my hands on a copy tomorrow (come on, just when I got my 2 days off at work). Hopefully there won't be that many Elder Scrolls fanatics waiting at the store and buying the last copy before I get there :/ (probably not, my country is not that big on gaming and waiting in lines for a game, the only time that happened was when Mafia 2 was coming out (made in our country after all))

....
Did I mention I LOVE what they did to the graphics? Character/NPC models especially, Oblivion was just... lol.

An I the only one playing this baby on a console?

I might too, my PC is only slightly above minimum specs, so I guess it will get choppy --> kill the flow.

Besides, I will buy the console version as soon as it ships to my favourite shop, and then I will "pirate" the PC version when it's aviable, to try if my PC can run it smoothly, and if yes, I will play it on PC... if not, console version it is. I'm not buying the game twice just to see if my PC can run it.

Consoles might even get mods this time around (though they DID plan that for oblivion too).

That video makes my computer whimper. (There's no way I could run that)

They said they tried to optimize the game much better than Oblivion, saying things like "if you can run Oblivion, you should be able to run this". They totally reworked the engine. Hopefully your PC can handle it, looks like an awesome game.

I guess I'm set though, even if my PC can't handle it (quite possible), my PS3 definitely can :D Sure I will be sacrificing some things like mods (or maybe not), but at least I know I WILL be able to play the game... Though, aiming with magic or bow on the PS3 effing SUCKS compared to mouse.
