Games that nobody remember?

I hope a lot of people DO remember this awesome piece of gaming greatness, but still throwing it in this topic anyways, just to make sure.

Best Game Openings: RPG Version

Probably not even my N.1 favourite, but I it is one of the first I ever saw/played, and I love it to this day. (as I love all of Blizzards cinematics, they are really good at making those... whenever I finish D2 act 5, I always watch the ending cinematic, so-godly-awesome).

Games that nobody remember?

Tyrian is AWESOME, used to play it all the time with a friend whenever I came over.

Games that nobody remember?

Did anyone ever play this game?

I remember playing it when I was younger, just accidentaly stumbled upon it while surfing the net.

EDIT: Other game that I used to play when I was younger, had a lot of fun too:

The underwater level with the dumb giant fish was fucking SCARY, I used to quit the game the moment I spotted the huge bastard :)
Awesome monsters, and quite a lot of hidden stuff all over the levels.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

Playing Tactics Ogre PSP almost exclusively now, it is such a great SRPG, and I feel it's the best SRPG on the system (for me at least)....

-Jeanne d'Arc is fun, but shallow and the fps tends to get somewhat choppy... plus the enemy reinforcements out of the blue right in the middle of the map...
-Disgaea I played enough already during D3 and D4...
-FFT caught my eye, which it then stabbed with a fork with the fps drops during skills... UGH

TO is pretty much "perfect" compared to those, smooth and fun gameplay, short but cool skill animations, love the leveling system (leveling the whole class instead of just one character), plenty of abilities to make characters unique (and more keep popping up the higher level I get it seems)... And I only got classmarks for a few classes, I don't even have any monsters yet, the most unique class I have is the ninja.

The only bad thing I can think of right now is the crafting system, which is just so painfully SLOOOOOOOW, playing the animation every time I craft, plus forcing me to craft one item at a time....could have been done better.

I also discovered LocoRoco, and I love the music. Whacky, catchy, awesome. Kinda like the soundtrack for The Neverhood. When the purple loco roco started singing in that "french" voice, I was like "AWESOOOMEEEEE":

Also, the game reminds me of World of Goo a little, which was awesome too.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

Crimson Gem Saga, love the graphics, combat is fun, and the jokes and references are funny too. Didn't expect anything from this game, but it turned out to be a fun one.

Also played a bit of Tactics Ogre on the psp... pretty deep, and pretty AWESOME... should probably play Jeanne d'Arc first so I am not spoiled by TO too much (JdA seems pretty "barebones" so far compared to TO).

So far, I am really happy that I got a PSP ;)

EDIT: Jeanne d'Arc might be shallow compared to TO, but it is so much fun nevertheless, my main game right now. I think I might actually finish this one.

Next up: probably other SRPG, will give FFT WotL a chance, never played FFT before. Played the first mission, there seems to be a strange "lag" in the menus and in gameplay sometimes, but I can live with that I guess.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

Class of Heroes

FINALLY got a PSP, and with it came new gaming opportunities.

I read it is hard in the beggining, and HELL is it hard. One of my party members constantly keeps dying, and reviving her costs 10/20 G each time, which is the kind of money I can barely afford. Then once, the revive failed, and it suddenly cost 60G to try second time. No way I can afford that anytime soon :)

Also, all the party members start with a KNIFE, and zero defense clothes.

Pretty hard to start, but I'm loving it. And I finally can use all the time I spend travelling to work playing games instead of staring out the window or listening to old people on the bus (ugh...).

Final Fantasy XIII-2.....

I checked it out in the wiki a bit more, and they are adding some things, might be worth a look after all, but... quick time events? I hate those...

Well, if they at least fix the camera during combat to actually SHOW what is happening, or what damage I'm dealing, it will be better.... but the Paradigm Shift combat style is still a "strange" combat style to say the least. I would prefer some kind of mix between active and turn-based, where I can just tell each character what to use at the exact time I need it, instead of shifting everyones paradigms each time I need to heal or buff (the short pause when shifting also kinda messed the flow of combat).

Adding monsters looks interesting at least, but their special attacks will also be quick-time events if I read right... what is it with game developers and quick-time events these days :/

Also, is it true that there are RANDOM encounters again, popping up in the field? Removing random encounters was one of the things FF13 I thought did right, and they put them back? O.o

(gah, my mind is like on a roller-coaster, one moment I totally don't give a damn about a game, and later I am starting to get interested).

EDIT: Basically...

Comments from the Famitsu reviews:
Not linear this time
A lot of mini games and sidequests
Recruitable monsters, a very fun feature
Battles are highly strategic
They improved all the features which had some complaints from the fans
Several endings, want to play many times
Awesome story
Story changes a little depending on users' choice

On paper, sounds great, let's see what the real thing is like (famitsu tends to hype all the FF games, and their reviews aren't really "reliable" that much, 40/40 score for FF 13-2 as well as Skyrim and Nintendogs, 39 to MW3, so take what you will from it :D )

Final Fantasy XIII-2.....

So, they are keeping almost the same combat system as in FF13? The one that leaves you with very little control and is more like an eye-candy, than pleasing gameplay-wise? Goddamnit, I was hoping for a new FF I could enjoy. It also looks like they are re-using many models (not necessarily a bad thing, but still...)

Sure, some other things are great (breaking the linearity, getting rid of Snow, etc), but if the combat system is based on the first one, I probably won't bother getting this game :/ And from the screenshots it's visible that the stats are still boring, just Strength and Magic again....

And Versus doesn't get my hopes high either, I love how the main character looks, and how darker the game looks, but that's about it, the gameplay videos didn't catch my attention at the very least.....

I guess the modern Final Fantasy games are just not my cup of tea (though I did enjoy and finish the first one quite a bit for example).

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

After getting frustrated by Skyrim, I needed another game to fill my time, so I did a little search.

Lands of Lore - Wanted some first person dungeon crawler RPG with automap, found this, liking it so far. I wanted turned based combat, but didn't find any games that appealed to me. I don't like realtime combat in these games too much, but what can you do. Also, the RPG elements seem quite shallow, but the game keeps me interested.

Mixing in a little Blood (dos), never played it before, quite fun, and gory too. Reminds me of Doom 2/Duke Nukem 3d, just the type of shooter I like, with all those secret places to find and monsters to slay :)
Quite hard though, I keep running out of health fast, and I chose only the second difficulty level.
