You see, on 2k3, you have the choice of mp3 or wav. With wav, you play once, but the size is about 10x larger meaning your game size quickly becomes bloated. With mp3, you can't play it from sounds, meaning you either need Disharmony and to make mp3.wav I think it was files, or have a common event that cuts sound after one play. It's awkward. You also needed some conversion programs, and to show file extensions. I think later engines were better about this.

Yeah, I keep forgetting plenty of people use 2kx since it got legalized. I definitely always think in terms of VX and later, which has far fewer limitations in this regard.

I voted for Opera, but only because I'm maybe the only other living person insane enough that they actually had the idea of making a rock opera in RMK prior to this?? (It was going to be Final Fantasy: The Rock Opera, I think, specifically.)

Anyway, getting assigned to teams and forced to include voice acting and/or singing (my GOD I cannot sing there's no way that's happening) could be really cool. I think rather than Opera, maybe open it up to just the game must have mandatory voice acting, singing optional? I mean I would think a lot more people feel comfortable speaking than singing (I could have pursued a career in voice acting if I wanted to, although I was already stuck on my career path when I noticed I had some talent there; on the other hand no one ever has or would imagine me having a career in singing). As for the technology, it's basically just a microphone, right? I feel like the music video idea has more of a technological barrier although maybe I'm just saying that because I'm afraid of screen capture software and have never got it to work.

I also thought the fan-game idea was kind of neat. Ten years ago I would have never said that. Ten years ago I would have said "JESUS H CHRIST ALL WE HAVE IS FAN-GAMES, HOW ABOUT A MAKE SOMETHING ORIGINAL EVENT" but the fan-games percentage has really deflated over the years. And in all my years of makery I've never actually made an honest-to-gosh full on fangame (just very derivative original games the odd adaptation, which are IMO different from fan-works).

Historical fiction might have interested me if I had not JUST DONE THAT for the last event.

I can't exactly explain why, but the year long idea somehow like fuses all of the worst aspects of working on a game for a jam/event and working on your game to get it done. Do not want.

I almost included Nessy's unofficial names here...the only reason I didn't is I wasn't sure how she came up with them. If she just made them up that's fine, but I wasn't sure if there was some other source for those names I wasn't getting. It is a mystery.

What it says on the tin. Unless I've gotten terribly confused over the years, the Ace RTP brings back all our friends from the VX RTP, at least graphically, if not in the DB.

And yes, we all know that Don Miguel era Alex is the greatest and best, but he's not on the poll. : P

Oh, I wanted to allow people to pick up to 4 choices but I didn't see where an option to allow more than one choice was allowed. Let me know if I'm being blind/dumb. This is in faceset/charset order btw.
