Weekly Update: 02/20/11 - 02/27/11
@WIP: We're actually testing a few different ideas on how to change up the battles, but so far these "FB" abilities are the only ones that we've been able to implement quickly, so they came first in testing. Some other ideas require some hefty edits to our battle script, so they will take longer.
One other hopeful is to use a self-selected turn order the way BoF4 did. Combos that add hits and damage, though, we're not going to do because that would REALLY break the system.
Finally, another idea is to have Ryu transform into his dragons and have them playable a la BoF3.
Like I said, everything with these new battle mechanics is all very touch-and-go. We may not decide to even use any of them if the results aren't perfect.
Personally, I haven't had the opportunity to test any of that stuff myself. If I had, I'd give my impressions on it.

@Zadok83: That's an interesting idea. Initially, we intended only Ryu and Nina to have to unlock their skills. I will bring that up to the team. I like the idea, personally.

@WIP: I agree, but it seems a large part of the RMN community doesn't, and let's face it, without them, we don't have a community, so I can take it easy on blogging for a while. Not a big deal. I'll still post all the info here as well like I said.
I also made a topic for it at HBGames. I, uh, don't agree with a lot of their policies but hey, marketing is marketing.

What I want to know is are you guys actually working on the game and not just fooling around with useless menu scripts (sound test? Really?) and brainstorming ideas on what to add to the game, even though I was convinced this was to be a port and not a remix? For now it seems you don't have anything playable and yet you're asking people what kind of counters to add to the menu... I think you got your priorities wrong.
Sound test is in the original game. It'd be pretty lazy of us not to include it. The game is also very playable up to the first visit to Wyndia.
