Well, we felt that keeping everyone as informed as possible would generate buzz. When Super Smash Bros. Brawl was in devlopment, they had a daily blog that had one update per day up until release. It was a really great idea, and I can say in confidence, I visited that thing EVERY. DAY.
Battle formations are already working, but the bonuses or restrictions they provide aren't. We haven't done the menu for changing them either, but that's coming up on our "to-do" list as soon as the battle system is in an acceptable, fully-working order. Basically, I'm saying formations absolutely will be in the game just as they were before (possibly with some new ones) but we will likely be doing the code for those near the end of development.
The Ershin sprite sheet will have it's palette adjusted, yes.

Contrary to popular belief, dudes menstruate as well. Believe that.
Any thoughts on battle system customization, Liberty?

Ah yes, I forgot to mention the Dragon Tear. In messages, we're aiming not only for the color codes to show how a person feels when you speak to them, but a small window (not unlike the name windows used in message scripts) to show their mood in text (or icon, we haven't decided ) form next to the tear.
As far as the battle system customizing, there's a module in place that allows a certain level of customization to the creator, and luckily, these can be changed via call script. Therefore, we can reference them in the options menu and possibly allow small preference changes, like listing magic spells in order of AP cost, the colors of HP/AP bars, enemy HP bars, etc.
Usually these things are set by the creator according to their preference, but we figure while we're already allowing menu and message customization, perhaps battle system interface customization would be cool to have as well.
Besides, there's a lot of extra space left to be used on the screen in the options menu as it is now.

Oh, BTW, you guys are smart.
I don't mind it at all. My viewpoint is 1/8 out of the whole of this project's team and in the grand scheme of things, who I argue with or don't argue with is of no consequence to how the game will be developed.
It's kind of how some online games these days have a "community manager." He's the guy responsible for informing the public about the game (usually via Twitter or some other incredibly hard to read website like it) and he's also the guy that everyone yells at when they don't like something in the game, even though he has nothing to do with developing it (in this case, I do have something to do with developing it though). So you can call me every name in the book and wish illness on my mother and I'll still be sending your ideas to everyone else. The team will still take your ideas incredibly seriously as well. I understand the difference between business and play time.
I was a member of this community long before I started working on this project, so when I post things in response to a blog that someone else created or one that I wrote myself, I do that as a member of RMN, and not as "that guy on that development team for that remake that does all kinds of random work assignments on it."
You can think I'm the biggest asshole with a keyboard, and then come here and say so. Fine with me. After all, not all criticism has to be constructive, and I do agree with that.

I'm just following wip's statement that not all criticism needs to be constructive. So if I want to be a whiny dick in response to someone being a whiny dick, that's ok, right?
Also, AGAIN I'll repeat this for the half retarded people who can't read. I accept all criticism, good or bad and forward it to be discussed by everyone working on this. So when you want to say, "hey that guy is just trying to help" I get it. I then send that idea in with an explanation of where it came from. My responses are my own personal ones. Feel free to say whatever you want, insult whatever you want, suggest whatever you want. You have an idea to improve or balance something, I'm all ears. When you present it like a douche, I'm still all ears but in gonna have a response as well.
I'm gonna go post a one sentence blog now so we can continue this parade of tears for another whole day

Reiterating something I constantly have to remind everyone about: I don't make every design decision in this project. I run this page for it, so yes, direct all complaints and suggestions to me, but keep in mind that just saying, "hey this sucks" to me won't always get something changed even if I completely agree with it our not.
That said, I always forward every comment, negative or positive to the whole team and we make a decision from there. Tomorrow you may see a blog saying the failure chance is removed our that Benediction will now have a flag to detect a dead ally or whatever. I voice my opinions, not the teams, but I always inform you of our progress.
Remember that we are still in design phases of this project. Nothing is set and final until you are downloading the game.
Do I think some of you are whiny disrespectful babies? Yes. Does that mean I will ignore your input even if I disagree? Hell no. I send everything back in our daily "meetings".
All I'm saying is when we debate on design here, you're only debating with me, not the eight people working on this every day. I will make a strong case to revisit the skills when Bleu is united.
The fact that she doesn't look like a holy dragon like someone insisted, that definitely isn't changing. Mainly because it's a moot point when Spar can turn into a grass monster from fire/devil. Grass and fire? Um... Conveniently left that one out, I see. Or that holy shaman somehow makes Jean lose a hundred pounds, or that earth turns Rand into a small petting zoo animal.
Seriously, debating balance is one thing. Debating realism and sense in a game that has you fighting demons inside of a fat lady? Get a grip.

@Jericho: It's a fan remake, and therefore is going to contain certain content that is fan-service. If you're that anal about whether or not a shaman transformation to appear as Ershin's suit of armor ruins the plot of BoF IV, I think you're looking in the wrong place for your games.

the playstation sprite doesn't fit with the snes graphics at all
Knew someone would say this. That's just the way it's going to be.
By the way, none of those skills will ever fail six times in a row. Don't be ridiculous. There are also plenty of alternatives to relying on Benediction to revive teammates. Like Spar, the Ershin skills have a wide range of effects with a randomizer thrown in. This is nothing new.
