It was also capped for the Puppy forms at 256 (512 if well-cast) elemental* damage, and straight up 512 elemental* damage either way for the adult dragons. The dragons use different means of determining damage this time.

Is it sad that I only just got the Nimufu thing? Like, I've been playing Breath of Fire II since I was eight or nine years old (now 28) and I never got that her name was supposed to be something like Nymphomaniac. >.<;
Now I've gotta wonder about some of the other names in the game...
Aspara Gus (Spar) says hi. Also weird that they left the wizards in her tower named after her actual last name when they never bothered to mention it in-game (Mani Wizard).
@Einander: Oops! Forgot to mention it, Warp and Exit are back in the spells list of Jean, Spar, Nina and Bleu. Ryu will still learn them, just in case. I know I've had some moments where I was blocked from using the Great Bird and didn't have Jean, Spar or Bleu in my party (because the party of Ryu, Rand, Katt, and Bow RULES).Presented with that last resort scenario in this version, I'd cast with Ryu and use a 10Z cost inn. :D
OK, so that Nimufu update came sooner than expected...
A ROARING FULL RELEASE!!! GIT YO PAWS ON DIS!
"*prepares to be bumped down by six BOF updates by dawn*"
I won't! I promise! Today was a productive day!

Breath of Fire II: The Fated Child (XP)
@Zadok83: Item drop rates were harsh even in the original game, so if we do list the item drops of an enemy in the bestiary, they won't have to be obtained beforehand, most likely. We haven't put it in just yet so there's always time to make some changes.

Because to change the appearance of the enemy (unless there's a really easy script call for this in battle), we'd need to make a "frogged" version of each enemy for them to transform into when inflicted with the state.
NBeing that our battle demo is still out being worked on by the author, maybe I'll ask him about the easiest way to do this.

100% IF the enemy can be affected. Enemies are either immune or not immune. It won't work on everyone.

@Branchlaw: Your version of the names is toned down, I like it. I'll suggest it. It's an easy fix to change the names now that the options menu has been completely scripted.
@Versalia: Enemies killed while in a frog state will still award standard exp, but you bring up a solid point. Perhaps only lowering an enemy's defense OR attack OR magic defense based on which enemy is changed would be a more balanced solution.
Such as, turning an Ogre into a frog would kill it's best trait, physical defense. On the other hand, a magic-based enemies like the Ghost in Nimufu's tower would lose magic defense. All-around dangerous enemies like an Efreet could lose one or both?
The one thing we don't change as I said is agility, so the turn order stays the same unless some buffs are thrown around.
Another hotfix that we can possibly do is cloning the entire enemy database, instead of just the basic 36 or so frog enemies we have in there now, and have one frog for each enemy in the game that can be affected by it, change the stats accordingly, and possibly lower the exp award. This would take much longer but in the end would probably function a hell of a lot better.
Well... you gave me some good ones to throw on the table at the next meeting so in the next balance update, look for some of these changes. Thanks.

Hey let's chill out with the misogynistic lambasting of your userbase. It is better not being bitter. ^_^
No bitterness here, brotherman. Work gets done faster and more efficiently due to this community, a fact I remind RMN of whenever I get the chance. ::hugs::
Oh, BTW, you guys are smart.
Let's run through the events then, alterego.
1. Ciel voiced harsh criticisms (according to Versalia).
2. Versalia suggests not being such a douche in conveying an opinion.
3. WIP says not all criticisms need to be constructive (i.e. respectful, nice, etc.).
4. I agree.
I fail to see where that is taken "out of context." That flat out says if you think something sucks something awful, you have every right to start typing exactly that into the comment box and hit send, and if the creator can't handle that, then maybe they shouldn't have posted their material for critique. I agree with that 100%.
Quoted: "Not all criticism has to be constructive. There is nothing wrong about saying "this is not a good idea and here is why"."
If I want to tell you your game sucks because the windowskin is too bright for my personal preference, boom, there it is. Want the proof? Apparently posting IRC logs calling people names because you disagreed with a design choice is totally OK, because I still see it sitting right up there in the comments here. Come to think of it, I'm ok with that staying right there too. I value the opinions of Ciel, Jericho, and anyone else who said something "negative." As you can see, it helps my team to better serve the community they are creating the game for. As this whole stupid thing was going on, I was reporting back to the team on what we should change, if anything, and the ideas that the community provided to rectify this, and guess what? We made those changes pretty fast.
If that's not what WIP meant by it, there are a million other ways to phrase it. I respect the administration of any website I'm a member of. If WIP says, "Hey dick, that's not cool and not at all what I meant" then he gets a nice public apology and a hug from me.
