Possible 2 part game

Splitting a game into pieces is a good way to avoid setting overambitious goals and get things done. If you say it'll make things more epic, I say go for it.

Terrarium: Remastered

The skill learning system is incredibly addictive. I can't remember the last time I had this much fun with an rpg maker game. The battlers various art styles clash, but it doesn't particularly ruin the experience for me. There's something to be said for the simple joy of building a custom character while punching monsters in the face.

Ah, love is in the air. Wait, no, those are snowflakes. Nevermind.

Accepting suggestions for Elementa Bellatar 2

One quick tip for making better dialogue; whenever a character is speaking, imagine their voice in your head. You'd be surprised how much easier it makes things.

Aaaanyway...what I love most about rpgs is the feeling of getting stronger. Usually at the beginning of an rpg, you're a novice warrior wielding a sword made out of duct tape and paperclips. By the end of your journey, you're a powerhouse capable of summoning fiery balls of death from the sky and smiting edrich abominations, gods, and abominable eldrich gods. The thrill lies in the journey earning that power.

One thing I noticed about the game was that the power was pretty much given to me at the start, rather than being earned through gameplay. You have a lot of attacks going on, so spread them out across your characters levels. That way, the player will battle in eager anticipation of leveling up, because they know a shiny new ability is waiting for them. In regards to abilities, make sure to give each of your attacks meaningful differences. A player won't care if they get a new ability if they think it's useless or otherwise unenjoyable to use.

Of course, enemies need to become progressively more difficult over time to test the player's newfound strength and abilities. I'd suggest testing battles while setting the party's level at whatever stage of growth you believe the party should be at, and tweak the enemies until they aren't too strong, but aren't too weak either. It's all about playtesting. One last thing; if you're going to have certain enemies have a weakness to certain elements, make sure the damage boost is high enough to be significant. Hope that helps.

Stealing from a mermaid...pfft, how tactless. Now stealing from a wasp is perfectly fine. No one likes wasps.

Sonic the Hedgehog RPG - Dimensional Worlds

YES! The mode 7 in this game was a major selling point for me, so I'm glad to hear its making a return.

Umbral Soul

Hey, thanks for the feedback, Nova. I can't believe I got Ernest and Ralph's sprites mixed up! Blasted orange haired heroes...this is why it's good to have more than 2 eyes on a project.

The faceset for Lianna's mother was a huge challenge, since I had to come up with a character that looked similar to, yet older than the female sorceress from the dark heroes character pack. I initially didn't give the parents faces at all, but I felt like doing so would make them feel more like people and less like NPC's.

The squishing icon issue is the unfortunate result of the HUD script I'm using. If a character has too many statuses, their name gets removed altogether. Frankly it annoys me too, but there's no way I can see around it that wouldn't involve me ditching that HUD...and I really, REALLY like that HUD.

Spoiler alert regarding the first battle
I'm overjoyed to hear your thoughts on the Ragnarok battle, as it sounds like the experience I was trying to convey came through nicely. I wanted players to feel the pure rage that comes with fighting a party with a healer who spams their strongest healing spell, the sense of power that comes from altering the arena itself, and the overall "final bossness" of having an OP second form. It was a pain in the butt to put together, but I'm glad it paid off.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts dude, and I'm glad you're having a good time. I hope you continue to enjoy yourself, and don't worry, I'm working hard at getting this game completed. Though it doesn't feel like work when you're having so much fun!

Oh I can already tell I'm going to like this.

See, this is why I like this game. Even the bees are sassy.

Game Testers Wanted, Some Questions, and a Brief Progress Report

I've never actually played an Ace Attorney game, so I would most likely die horribly on a high difficulty level. Somehow though, that makes me want to try it even more.
